One Step at a Time
So, another small goal reached this morning.
A couple of years ago, Fred was home after surgery for colon cancer. {This was the never-to-be-forgotten time when he checked himself out of intensive care after a couple of days!] Anyway, during the time he was unable to look after himself, I looked after him in the same way that he has done for me when I first got home from this surgery. One thing that was left over from that time was that I retained the habit of bringing him is first cup of coffee in the morning. He really enjoys having it brought to him and I enjoy doing this little thing for him. Now, when I was using the walker, there was no way in which I could carry a cup with liquid in it. but this morning, I realised that using the cane and if I don’t fill the cup too full and if I take my time, I can go back to giving him his coffee! So, I did! I am also sitting at the computer with my own cup of coffee which I carried here by myself!
Small steps matter…
I am still visualizing the trip downstairs to do the laundry. It will get done. {But not necessarily today!}
