No Gingerbread & No Rye bread

I got up this morning all gung-ho to make first gingerbread and then rye bread. I got on my hands and knees to look in the bottom cupboard of the kitchen to get the pan I make it in only to realize that Fred had put the boneless pork ribs in it and put them and the sage-and-other-spices he rubbed them with into the refrigerator until he cooks them this evening. So, no gingerbread today. I briefly contemplated using two smaller cake pans but I am a creature of habit and opted to leave it until tomorrow. Since I wasn’t going to make gingerbread, you would think I was all ready to make rye bread, wouldn’t you? But that is not how it went. I wake in the morning and lie there for a few minutes planning my day. I had this first gingerbread and then rye bread routine all worked out and if I wasn’t going to make one, I lost all interest in the other!!   {I hope you are noticing how it all turned out to be Fred’s fault!!   }

I got a reply from the Freecycle person saying she would come around and pick up the skirts and tops tomorrow {Sunday}  morning at 8 am. I wrote back and told her they would be double bagged {in plastic bags because of threatened rain showers} and on the doorstep because I couldn’t guarantee I would be up at that time. So, I will put them out tonight. I also listed my six cassette walking tapes on Freecycle.  It will be interesting to see if there is any interest in them.

Today I have done the following:

  • arranged to have a living plant sent to my sister and brother-in-law. This was Fred’s very good idea but I did it.
  • walked this morning for 45 minutes
  • walked to the drug stor eto get Fred’s medication and on to the flower shop.
  • put the ingredients for a white loaf in the bread maker
  • washed dishes and put them away
  • sent email to my younger son and  to the Freecycle person
  • played Bookworm Deluxe and got burned out at a little over one million–my second highest score.

I have two Netfix DVDs –both Sharpe movies with {drool} Sean Bean….

Until later…

of course, it was all fred’s fault!! if you explained that to him, did he accept the fault? a 45 minute walk is a long time to be walking. i can do about 30 minutes and then my back starts hurting. take care,

I so do understand, about not making the rye bread, glad it is not just, that behaves in that manner. I’m in good company Best Wishes

I wish I were in your freecycle group..those walking tapes would be good for me. I completely understand the rye bread/gingerbread logic. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

lol i can actually see that too. If you can’t do the one thing why do the other, bah. What kind of walking tapes are these? r

LOL! Poor Fred!!!!!!!!! But BAH! I had my heart set on Gingerbread too! Maybe it’s time for ME to dig out the trusty bread machine too!!!!! Love you! ~M

I am determined to walk as much as you do. But yes, do it sensibly and start small. I only can do about 15 minutes before my knee is aching, and I have to stop. I think the plant is a wonderful idea.

I still want to get a bread-maker….have a great weekend

I like your picture here. Very inspiring to keep us making bread. My last loaf was the flax seed one. It turns out nice and moist. I plan my day but often use plan B or even plan C when things don’t go in the order I had hoped. I think I am pretty flexible. If someone suggests going somewhere or doing something else I can chuck plans A B and C and off I go.

Of course it’s Fred’s fault! And it’s Joe’s fault I was lazy today, too. They’re strong; they can take the brunt when need-be. 🙂 Here’s wishing you a lovely evening and tomorrow. hugs, Weesprite

wow, that’s a great score for Bookworm, I haven’t played that game in a while. I think I need to make some time to play a few games, it’s a good way to relax a little. 🙂

: ) that is always the safest, blame it on your partner! *huggs* and I am going to have to check out this “freecycle” and see if there is one out here. We have a “craigslist” but have not heard of “freecycle” other than from you.

Hahaha. You always make me laugh because we think so alike – if I can’t do something in the order I planned it, I lose interest. And it would be equally Vince’s fault if that were me. I hope that the meal he prepared was good enough to compensate! 😉

I still wanna know about Bookworm – is it a computer game? Is it online somewhere, or do you buy it?

Happy Happy Mother’s Day.

Woohoo! You have a good Bookworm game going!!! Be very careful, very, very careful. You don’t want to burn the library down now. 🙂 Happy Mothers Day, Patrisha!
