New Kindle Books

It has been quite a while since I have written but I think that is because I go in cycles about writing and this is a low part of the cycle.

I woke up to some interesting news Kindle-wise this morning and that is that Lord of the Rings {LOTR}and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien are now available for the Kindle. And they are both on my Kindle now!} And what many Kindle owners are hoping is that next the Harry Potter books will be released  as ebooks too, which probably wont happen since the author has gone public saying this will not happen!} LOTR can, apparently, be bought in one big book or three separate ones and, of course, I opted for the one book as soon as I found out that it had a clickable table of contents. {I found out by downloading a free sample and looking at the table of contents and clicking from chapter to chapter.} This means that if I want to go to book two, I can go to the table of contents and click on book two and be taken straight there. Of course, I would never read book two only since I think it is the least interesting of the three books and basically mostly just a way to get to book three! Right now I am reading Robin Hobbs’ The Soldier Son trilogy and I am on book two. Like most of Hobb’s’ trilogies, the first book is slow because she builds her worlds and introduces her characters in the first book and this is a new world and new characters. The only exception to this perceived slowness, for me anyway, was the Tawny Man series which was in the same world as The Assassin series. If you want something interesting to read, I recommend all her books. She also writes as Megan Lindholm. These days seem to be a re-read/rewatch time for me. I am also rewatching the "Farscape" series, too. I am really enjoying these. The series starred a very young-looking Ben Browder and the always gorgeous Claudia Black. And a whole lot of Muppet-type puppets with Rygel the Hynerian being the most visible.

Today I am going to:

  • wash clothes
  • walk on the treadmill
  • possibly make banana bread in the bread machine

Today it is partly cloudy and the temperature is 52. The high is supposed to be a chilly 57!

J is loving the Kindle you sent him. Says that the only down side is that it takes so long for books to be put into Kindle format.

Someone in Reading Circle brought a Kindle this time! Of course, I knew right away what it was and how it worked, all because of you! Everybody loved it.

It is nice to see you here! Glad you’re enjoying your Kindle so much. I have the LoTR books in hard copy and I’m glad I do…. I love my Kindle but I’ve been thinking lately about how there are some books that I just want to have in hard copy and those might be some of them. I’m glad they’re available on Kindle though!

Enjoy! After Saturday’s high in the upper 70s, today’s high temp will be about 50 degrees. I don’t want HOT, just consistantly WARM!

Damn it I forgot to bring my copy of LotR and The hobbit back with me from my weekend home! I have been meaning to re read them! How exciting for Kindle readers though 🙂 *HUGS*

I’ve never read or seen any of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I’m wondering how many books are in Kindle format already? Seems like I’m hearing more and more people talking about the Kindle, so it’d make sense for authors to be eager to have their books available that way! :o) !! Yesterday was chilly and rainy here….I’m hoping for a high that’s higher and a day that’s drier today! hugs, Nicky
