New Glasses !

I have new glasses and I can see again! I went to have my eyes checked  a week ago because I noticed that I could see as well with my glasses off as I could with them on! Everything was slightly blurred around the edges but when I put these new ones on, I can see sharp edges again. I took my prescription to LensCrafters and they called my cell phone this afternoon when I was sitting outside reading. And, yes, I was down there in a hurry! These are the "looking at everything" trifocals. The other pair, not in yet, are "looking at computers and reading"  bifocal glasses. AND both pairs have lines. I LOVE my lines! I tried a year of those no-lines glasses and I seemed to spend the whole time moving my head to find the optimum plave to look. With these with lines, I KNOW where to look!

You may remember my little trip to Walmarts a few weeks ago and my diatribe about the racks and racks of UG-LY knee length shorts? And how pleased I was to find a rack of above-the-knee shorts? Well, I put on a pair this morning, and much to my surprise, they are skorts! As it happens, I like myself in skorts so I wasn’t dismayed. I wonder if the other pair are skorts, too!   Oh well, they are comfortable and flattering and and a reasonable price so what more can I ask! {And, they have pockets, too! Fred pointed this out. Everything he owns has to have pockets! }

Ten days to surgery. No, ten days until I get a new hip– a much more positive way to look at it.

Well, that’s great! They told you the truth at LensCrafters since they said you’d have them before your surgery. I will probably be getting bifocals the next time I go to the eye doctor.

That was fast!!!!! Glad you’re liking them. I love skorts! They’re cute and fairly modest and very comfy!!! You’re going to LOVE your new hip. Everyone I know who’s had it done is happy and pleased in the end. Hang in there! Love to you. ~M

I’m so glad you can see again! And I’m like Fred; I must have pockets. I also need a few pairs of shorts that are “decent”….maybe I’ll make a trip to the Walmart soon! hugs, Weesprite

I think I may have gotten a couple of pairs of those “Wow, they’re a skort!” shorts at Walmart yesterday, too. I’m liking mine. They shall be my new summer go-to “trousers”.

You’ll be able to see your surgeon. It’s great getting new glasses and being able to see things properly.

glad you can see good again!!! i’m thinking i need new glasses but right now the money just isn’t there. will have to wait til raymond gets back to work for a while. just 10 days til your new hip? for me the time has passed quickly but i imagine for you time has nearly stood still.

I heard so many complaints about the no-line bifocals that I never did even try them. I think it’s a vanity thing so that nobody ELSE knows you’re wearing. But I’m more practical. I care more about what I am experiencing than what somebody else thinks, so I’m with you on the lined thing. The new outfit I bought for my niece’s wedding turned out to be a skort, too, AND it was from Walmart! Wonder if we match! LOL!

I love skorts!! I need to check out what Wally World has in them as I will hopefully be making a trip home this summer. ( if the adoption gets finalized that is. ) Glad that you were able to get your glasses. That was quick, wasn’t it? Hugs, M

You’ll need to take a photo of you in your new glasses to show us!

Gee. Thanks to this entry, I was reminded that I have a skort. I completely forgot that I do. Thanks!

Hooray for well-fitting fashions and sharp vision! Wow, a hip-replacement, huh?

How about a pic of you in your new eyes?

June 10, 2007

I can understand that feeling of not knowing where to look. Glad that the new glasses were done in time!

🙂 new eyes, new hip. great stuff. How does anyone live without pockets?

June 10, 2007

Yes, until you get a new hip!

Good news about the glasses. My mom wanted some stronger ones, but the doc said they would not help. She is losing her eyesight and is saddened by this.

I so need new glasses. The pair I have now are not bifocals and it was a mistake. I am with you on the lines thing. I have to take my glasses off to read on the bus. Anyway, it is marvelous that you got yours before your surgery!

RYN: thanks for the note of support! 🙂

RYN: Thanks for the note!! I have my two boys and even though I really do want a girl…I know another boy would be just as big of a blessing! Boys are ALOT of fun (but you just cant dress them up in pink ruffles). LOL! Have a great day!

RYN: Albert J Nock’s “Memoirs of a Superfluous Man” described by some as the best nonfiction of the 20th century, but it’s not even in print anymore. LOL And the True Crime noevel is “Head Shot” by Burl Barer.

Thanks for the note….it is so good to be home again. Traveling is great but I do enjoy my mundane everyday life! Have my fingers crossed for you and the new hip coming up. I am going to break down and get bi-focals next pair of glasses. I’m so sick of misplacing my reading glasses! You are not alone in losing/misplacing keys!! Firefox rules! That is all I use anymore!

I like the positive outlook.
