Necessary Phone Calls and Other Stuff.
It is odd that as I get older, how much more I dislike making phone calls than I used to. Anyway, since I HAD to call the pharmacy today for a prescription refill, I thought I would gird my loins, so to speak and get the other two out of the way. First I needed to call American Express. This wasn’t a big thing since I remember from before that they need the number of the credit card, your address, phone number and the last four digits of the social security number. I had everything I needed out there in front of me and the call only took a few minutes. The last call was to the car insurance place to remind the agent that I HAD taken the car to the place they wanted me to go to and that they could now send me the rebate for $100! Of course, I got the agent’s voice mail but them I have ALWAYS gotten her voice mail! The only time I have actually spoken to her was when she called me back.
I did not realize until this morning that it rained quite a lot last night so it was with trepidation that I went out to check the chair cushions on the deck this morning. The fabric is water resistant so they just needed wiping over with a dry cloth except for one which seemed to have soaked up water on one edge. I just squeezed that one out and put it in the sunshine. It is very weak sunshine but every little helps. It was a little chilly but I DID take my bagel outside this morning.
I am still loving my Kindle. I have actually had to ration my reading time because I have been reading so much that my vision has been blurring!
What I am reading:
- Sharing Knife Two by Lois Mcmaster Bujold. I have finished Sharing Knife One quite some time ago and really enjoyed it. I have a sample of Sharing Knife Three downloaded. It seems likely that I will buy it!
- I have finished Ishmael by Barbara Hambley
- I am still reading and enjoying The Know-it-all by A.J. Jacobs. It makes a nice break from science fiction!
QUOTATIONS:

You’d hate my job. I’m on the phone 8 hrs a day! Needless to say, by the time I get home I’m not likely to answer anything if it rings… Love to you! ~M

I do know what you mean. I’ve been making phone calls all day, and am just tired of trying to get things arranged. The sun has finally come out, and it’s actually shining here… I was starting to think it was a nasty rumour that there was a big glowing thing in the sky.

I hate phone calls too. And I HATE having to talk to an answering machine!!!!! Especially when I’m wondering all the while, “is anyone actually going to ever listen to this????” I’m glad you got some sunshine and could take your bagel outside. We are s’posed to have sunshine all weekend! hugs, Weesprite

I think it is because you need to get all the information out before you make the phone call. Art makes me phone most of the time. Yep, it is so much fun. NOT!
