My Not-Exciting Life

I went for my massage and it was fan-TAS-tic! I almost fell asleep on the table but didn’t. I usually have a massage in the afternoon and it was odd having it in the morning. Instead of going back in two weeks, I am going back in one. It occurred to me that I probably won’t be able to go for at least a month after the surgery in June. In case you are wondering how I afford this, I have prepaid for a year! I get a 13th check in December with the cost-of-living raise for the year. It would only be a small amount if it was added to my teachers’ pension each month but it is a reasonably substantial amoiunt  in a lump sum. For the past few years, I have negotiated a very good price on massages with Beth using this money! So, all I have to find every time I go is the tip.

When I got back, I made myself a sandwich for lunch and next slept for a couple of hours. I honestly didn’t mean to do it,  but I lay on the bed reading, and off I went. I know I didn’t get enough sleep last night so I am not really bothered about this although I don’t usually like to sleep during the day since it cuts down on my night sleep. I wish I could be like Fred who is the King of Power Naps!  He can take 15 to 30 minutes and wake up all ready to go. I sleep for hours and wake up groggy and irritable!

Well, this isn’t very exciting! Come to think of it, that could be said about my whole life, right? But that is the way I like it…

“at least a month”? I would think that the massage would help you speed up the healing. Not on the joint itself for at 2-4 weeks, but a massage in your other tissue would help your body process the waste that it will be dealing with and repair of the tissue. I’m going to ask my teachers this week what they would recommend, especially the teacher that made us watch the hip replacement operation video. 😀 I’m all curious about this. You are helping me with my learning! Thank you!

🙂 yes but you sound very bright and cheerful. I have had a lovely sleeping day too and feel quite serene and composed now and actually, like a human bean again. I wish I could sneak another day a little like this one too.

Exactly. Excitement is for your FIRSt seventy years. Although your upcoming trip to Italy is more exciting than most of the things being done or planned by the vast majority of other OD’ers!

That’s the way I like it, too! I have yet to have my first massage, but it sounds so relaxing and nice!

I think your life is very interesting. You give me a touchstone for how ordinary and happy days can be. I wish I had that ability to power nap too, it would be so useful.

I took one of those long naps today too. Had a hard time waking up from it. The massage sounds nice!! Hugs, M

I’ve never understood the whole tipping system that Americans have.
