Morning Thoughts
I am still not feeling good this morning, but thanks to cold pills, I am feeling a little better. When I went to bed last night, I was still stuffed up and I really thought I wasn’t going to get any sleep at all, but just as I was thinking about getting up, the cold pill kicked in and I fell asleep!
This morning the big decision is whether or not to cancel my massage which is scheduled for 1:30. It is not fair to expect Beth to drive all the way into Burlington and then to cancel at the last minute. I just told Fred I will decide about 9:30. I really REALLy need this massage but thinking about lying face down for 90 minutes is a little daunting with my sinuses the way they are! However, she does have a big box of tissues and a trash can very handy!
A few minutes ago, I went out to put the trash out and to check on Malcolm. He stays out all night and he was lying in the sunshine right behind the storage shed. I then went into their apartment and put more food and fresh water out for him and returned his medication to the top of the bag of dog food where Mike had left it for me. Mike and Melanie and Gretta will be back this evening but if they are not here by 9 pm, I will give Malcolm his pill and leave them a note that I have done so. He looks so startled to see ME coming out of the apartment that I am amused every time!
I have found an interesting site called 43 things. I like things like this that encourage me to think about what I want to do with the rest of my life. Check it out here. One thing on my list is to take a trip to Italy. Robbie and I were planning on going together but the cancer and then her death intervened. My brother-in-law gave me quite a lot of money in dollars which was their future travelling money. He told me that he would no longer be travelling and that he and Robbie would like me to have it and use it to travel.
Now, time to finish this, finish my coffee and go for a walk!
Until later…

Good morning! It’s nice to hear about Malcom in the sunshine. It’s still dark here. In fact, I just realized that the days are getting shorter — still dark at 5 a.m.

SO nice of your brother-in-law…such a decent gesture, it must have touched your heart deeply. and of course you must use it for something really special, such as a trip somewhere you’ve always longed to go, since travel was the purpose of this money.

I hope you feel better. Allergies are kicking my ass this year. I think they get worse the older I get. I don’t get to note too often, but I do love your diary. Have a good day! (get the massage!)

I’m glad for you and Malcolm that you get to take care of him when his family is away. Good luck with the trip – will Fred go with you? Would you go in the off season when it’s not so crowded? That’s what I always thought I’d do…but I never go anywhere. Have a good day, friend.

43 things sounds very interesting. I’ve had a goal list since I struck out on my own seven years ago; it’d be fun to compare it to others.
