Morning Potpourri

A quick entry before I trundle off to see Fred.

A “real” Vermonter would remember to put on her snow boots before going off early this morning to buy groceries! {I have snow boots. They still reside in the closet!}

I have decided to be cheerful about grocery buying. When Fred is here, he buys them and I carry them up stairs and put them away. When I had abdominal surgery, it was six weeks before I could drive so that means I have at least six weeks of doing this chore. There must be something positive about grocery buying. {Actually, I discovered this morning that there is. Fred always forgets that I prefer feta cheese with sun-dried tomatoes. I got some this morning.}

I turned off the light at 10 pm last night and slept right through until 6 am. It was lovely and exactly what I wanted and needed.  I have already been out to buy groceries. The only thing on my list that I wanted to do and didn’t get done was a walk before the grocery buying. I will do that this afternoon when I get home.

Ok, I am off to the hospital. I have finally discovered the valet parking. Two dollars for the whole day! Not that I stay more than three housrs but it cost me more than that to park in the take-a-ticket-and-pay-on-the-way-out lot. The valet parking seems to be run by college students. Yesterday I told the one who was going to drive my car away that the key was easy to put in but tricky to get out. He said, “Oh, we can do it! We’re professionals!” He was correct. He got the key out! {The man who does the yearly checkup for my car has never managed even after being shown how to do it!}

Until later…

Only ever seen plain feta. It is amazing how we do thing differently from our partners, but how, we adapted to there need to be left to make the choices while doing a chour Best Wishes

Gotta love those professionals!

Thankfully our valet parking at the hospital is free… But 2 bucks is still pretty dang good not having to deal with parking.

Good for you for getting so much sleep! Must have felt so refreshing. After being together nearly 10 years, my spouse cannot remember that I don’t like mayonnaise on my sandwiches, so Fred isn’t alone in forgetting your preference on feta! Have you ever tried feta melted on pasta? I like to throw a bit into the sauce before I serve it. It works best with a lighter marinara. Yum!

The valet parking at the hospital when my brother was in was free for seniors, although they accepted tips, and $2 is cheap. But my mom was cheaper. I don’t think she gave them so much as a quarter. LOL!

I’m jealous of your sleep! I didn’t fall asleep until about 5am and I woke up at 6:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep 🙁

I used to love shopping. But after 40 years, I’m really tired of it and hate doing it.

Hospital parking here was $7 a day. If I stayed less than 4 hours it would be less but I never did. I just found out that our health insurance charges $250 per hospital admission! That means $500 for this last month. Yikes!

I still like grocery shopping, mostly because I shop at a store that I love, which has delicious & unusual things, and lots of healthy stuff too. “Real” grocery stores give me sticker shock, & have little or nothing that I want to eat. Hope Fred is doing better today.

That was a wonderful night’s sleep and one you needed. I am finding that I don’t mind shopping so much as when I get home and have to put the stuff away. We are so fortunate to have all the food choices in the world and plenty of it and yet we complain. Human nature is an odd isn’t it?

Wow those valets are amazing. It seems strange that they would charge less for that then regular parking. Around here the only place you pay to park is downtown and that’s even cheap. Happy HOlidays!

Hello, nice diary here…I like it.
