Morning Entry

Well, I guess I have to record that I did not do as well on my test as I should have done. There was a whole section on numbers and I didn’t study them. I guessed but because she said them {rather than having them written on the paper}, I don’t think my guesses were good. She had  spent some time on them in the previous week’s class so what have I learned from that is that if she spends time on it in class, it will be on the test. I don’t think I failed the test because I did fine on the months and seasons and days. I am annoyed with myself because I could have learned them. It was just memorization and I can do that easily. In addition, somehow it had slipped through the cracks in my brain that I hadn’t finished the raccontino that was due. I handed in the working hand-written draft but it was obvious that it was just a draft. For example, I used dorman? with a question mark because I had to look up the verb ending for the subject. I decided this morning I will send her email requesting a chance to do this one over when I get my draft back. Ok, lesson learned.I have cleaned out one storage box of my winter clothes and got rid of some I haven’t worn for a while. I have put two offerings of these fall/early winter clothes on Freecycle and they were both snapped up immediately. Today my plan is to go through the container where my sweaters are and purge those also. I really like doing this not only because I am glad to be getting rid of clutter but also because they are going to people who need them, judging by the large number of replies I am getting. There are two weeks until the book club meeting. I have the book,  The Forest Lover by Susan Vreeland but have as yet not started reading it. The other books for the next six months are Guns Over the Champlain Valley by Coffin, Curtis and Curtis {It occurs to me that since this is local history, Fred may already have this in his collection}, Bitter Grounds by Sandra Benitez {this was my choice–an excellent book}, Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner, Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs,  A Voyage for Madmen by Peter Nichols and At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks. I usually buy these books in paperback and secondhand and then put them on Freecycle where they are promptly snapped up! I am really enjoying this book club not only because I like the women but because I enjoy the different genres I get to investigate. I tend to stick woth one or two genres and to my favorite authors. The longer we live here, the more I find I am really enjoying and appreciating this apartment. It is well worth the huge rent we are paying. {Incidentally, the rent is not abnormal for a two-bedroom apartment in this area. Rents in Vermont are high.} I love our living room. Every time I use it or even just pass through it, I like how it looks. This morning I carried my tray of breakfast in there and appreciated it all over again. Links to art:

I’m sorry you didn’t do as well as you wanted to do, on the test. But you will do lots better on the next one, I bet! And it’s great to hear you are loving the new apartment so much! It does sound lovely. hugs, Weesprite

Sorry you didn’t do as well as you wanted, but know ing you, it was probably still a good grade. I’ve looked at the freecycle stuff in this area, and it sure is slim pickings. Most people here give their stuff to the charity shops. Reading! I sort of remember what that’s like! Maybe next year I’ll be able to read again.

I am quite sure that you are taking this class in order to learn Italian and not prove that you can make yet another A. If this is the case, then you are accomplishing what you started out to do…learn Italian. And you have learned her testing methods, so I know you’ll do better on her next exam. I’m glad the apartment is working out. It would’ve been horrible to go through that moveand then not like it!

I’ve been thinking that I need to find a book club. I’ve seen about ten different shows that mention book clubs in some capacity, not to mention reading about it here.

The only one of those books I’ve read is Running with Scissors. I basically liked it, although it was dark and disturbing in parts. I wish I could locate a book club.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all make boo-boos.

I love Nicholas Sparks.

I have all of Nicholas Sparks! Message in a Bottle was my all time favorite! In fact, I just pre-ordered his newest book, Dear John to be released later this month! Sorry about the test! Those lessons you learn from are definitely the best!

I’m sorry it didn’t go as well as you wanted it to, you will do a lot better next time!! <3 Annie-Rae
