- EDIT: The boxes were delivered right to my door! Yeah for UPS!!!
- I feel better this morning and even have a little energy. So far I have opened and emptied two and a half boxes. I have put away about half of the "stuff" that was in the boxes.
- I am delighted to say my small crock pot turned up. Now I have to locate its top which I have seen but probably piled assorted "stuff" over. Still. I know it is there somewhere.
- I am a bit concerned that my VIP package from Amazon is at the office and I have no way to get it back to my apartment. (It is VIP because it contains the red step stool which will enable me to put things on the very top shelves.} I can walk to the office fairly easily since it is not far and it is downhill. But although the hill is minor, I can’t walk up carrying an Amazon box. I would ask Jake to pick it up for me since he is coming this evening to pick up trash bags and bring me more stuff I left at his house—well, and to see me too — but since it will be after work, the office will be closed. Oh, well, it will eventually get sorted. Of course, if I had my car…
- Since I was up at 5;30 this morning, my stomach is telling me I need to eat.
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}

Yeah for UPS. Just a suggestion. Don’t hesitate to call the office and ask them for little favors. Just explain your problem and if there is enough staff they will probably be glad to accommodate you. I lived in the same complex in Austin for 7 years and even though the staff tends to change I always knew some of them and they were very friendly. Once I had a flat tire and had a dr appt.I knew it would take AAA an hour so I called and offered to pay the maintenance man if he wasn’t busy. He changed it in no time and would not let me pay him. So I made a cake and took it to the office for all to enjoy. I got to mr dr appt on time. Just ask and they will help you if at all possible.

ryn: I had an idea you probably didn’t easily ask for help so that is why I nudged you to ask. I enjoyed my 7 yrs in the apartment I lived in and I loved my apartment even though it was on the 3rd floor but I felt safer. I was in my mid 40’s when I first moved there so I didn’t need help often. And I’m like you, I still would rather try to do it myself than ask for help, it’s just easier. LOLBut I’m realizing at 67 I’m going to have to start asking for help once in a while. I hope you enjoy your new apartment and living close to Jake. I guess not having a car is keeping you in to get unpacked. 🙂 But once you get that car I’m sure you will be learning your way around.
