Monday Morning

Good morning, everyone.

It is another cool and sunny Vermont day here and I feel pretty good this morning. I woke at 7 am and decided it was too early to get going on the day and went back to sleep for another hour! Monday Is the day I get use of my landlords’ washer and dryer and since I use their electricity and, especially since I use their hot water, I can’t in good conscience begin my washing chores until they have had their showers and are out of the house which usually happens about 7:30-ish. So, I started the first load about 9:30 and then went for a walk.

Fred asked me to go up to the drug store to get a prescription refill for him so I did that and then continued up the hill to the school. It is deserted this week since the children are having their spring break. I walked around their running track once and then home the long way going down back streets and round blocks. When I started out, it was a bit chilly with the temperature at 56 degrees and a sharp little wind. I am wearing a light, long-sleeved cotton sweater but it was still a little cold. At first I wished I had thought to put on a vest but after I warmed up, I was glad I didn’t. This afternoon I will, I think, take my bike out–if Mike remembers to get me an extra key to the padlock he put on the shed yesterday. He said he would do that today. I can understand why he wants to lock the shed up since besides my bicycle the shed has his lawmower and tools in it . Of course, I would be angry if my bicycle was stolen but not devastated. I spent less than $100 on it five years ago and I have definitely gotten my money’s worth out of it!

So, for the rest of the day:

  1. Finish the laundry. That means fold and put away the load in the dryer and then transfer the second load to the dryer and, of course, fold and put away that load.
  2. I MIGHT even put away my winter sweaters and get out my summer clothes? Hmmm, perhaps it is a little too early in the season to do this?
  3. Wash the dishes
  4. Make bread. I am going to try for two loaves. One will be the usual white loaf and probably the other will be the two-cheeses bread. I may not get to the second one because I have a tutoring session with Robin at 3 pm. This time, she called me to check on the day and time! LOL {Although the machine does all the work, I like to be there to take the paddle out after the punch-down so the bread slides out easily and there is only a tiny hole in the bottom!}
  5. Tutor Robin at 3 pm
  6. Go for a second walk this time with my camera. I saw several lilac bushes putting out leaves when I was out this morning.OR
  7. Go for a bike ride if I can get my bike out of the shed.

Until later…
