Monday Evening Entry
This, again, started life as a photograph I took and manipulated with Paint Shop Pro to "the golden apples of the sun…"
I had a really good walk this morning. I was able to use the 3 to 3.5 mph timed walking music for a solid 30 minutes even though there were a couple of minutes at the higher speed when I found it quite difficult but I was pleased that I stuck with it. As for the rest of the day, I did several loads of clothes–washing, drying and putting away, I changed the sheets and put the ingredients for a loaf of white bread into the machine.
I am sitting here watching Richard Dean Anderson on Star Gate SG1 reruns. And what has happened to the new season? I missed the first two episodes and when I came back no Jack O’Neill and no info as to where he went? I am giving it a fair trial but I don’t like it any way near as much without O’Neill!
Tomorrow is the real date for the book club meeting not last Tuesday as I thought. I guess I should skim through the book {The English Patient } so I can be more specific about why I didn’t really enjoy it. Mostly it was because I got very confused by all the flashbacks. I can take and understand the occasional flashback but this book, I felt, overdid it. I really couldn’t get interested in most of the characters and thus really didn’t care what happened to them. Mind you, I did like the character of the older man who taught Kip about the unexploded bombs…you know, the one with the secretary who sat on the hills and took notes. Of course, if you haven’t read the book you will have no idea what I am talking about, right?
I am spending an hour or two every evening experimenting with pastels–the pencil kind not the soft kind. It is interesting…
Until later…
I haven’t read The English Patient, but there is a limit to how story/character lines I can keep track of at once. Good Luck! I have thought about joining a book discussion group…do you enjoy it?

I haven’t read the book and I doubt that I will. You are a wonder, paint shop pro, pastels, walks. What a dynamo!

ryn: THANKS!!! We thought outside the box and got real creative to make it work, as we already had the togas and everything done. Hehe.
Warning Comment
ryn: nope, not yet….waiting until early next year to start trying. But its almost that exciting 🙂

Hero mentioned that RDA will be on several episodes this season and the story lines are supposed to get more cornball. Who knows where Hero gets his info, he reads a ton of newspapers each day so he knows more about pop culture than I do (and I work with teenagers, go figure).

Like the pictures that you have been posting on your diary entries.. So what kind of music have you been listening to while your walking? Just curious! Hugs

I like the apple picture. But I can’t for the life of me figure out what the picture in the margin is. Maybe I need my eyes fixed. LOL It will probably be OBVIOUS once I find out what it is.

I, too, like your apple picture. I admire your use of the software to manipulate your images. I use the same product, but, for the most part, I’m “fixing” my bad photography, or cropping and enlarging great-grandchildren from group shots.

I’m a bad Canadian…I didn’t read The English Patient. The film was great though.

I would need a bookclub that gets together every 2 months… it takes me forever to read a book 🙁
