Monday
Yesterday after the freezing rain, we had very high winds so I took down the bird feeders. This morning I hung them back up again and I was barely in the house before the birds came hurtling in to eat! I was glad to see them {and, in the case of the blue jays, to hear them! Such noisy birds!}
Ok, tasks for today:
- Move my car back to the place it is supposed to be. I can do that after the next task listed is done.
- Drive to the Unicel office and politely and calmly {both the opposite of what I am feeling} ask why my cell phone is not working and why it is demanding more money. {There is an authorization for an automatic withdrawal.} I am also going to ask for a name and address to officially and formally complain.
- Get three loads of laundry washed and dried.{This has been started}
- Put the ingredients for another loaf in the breadmaker. {This has been done}
- Go for at least one walk. The temperature is 36 and it feels like 36 so that means there is no wind.
- Play Scrabble with Fred. He does much better when he is not able to sit around and brood hence the Scrabble. And,as I told him this morning, this is my one chance to beat him consistently while he is not totally well! Normally, he is a killer player and he regularly wins two out of three games.
- If I can’t do two walks today, use the treadmill for the second one.
- Put my Netflix movies out to be picked up by the mail person {I have done this.}
wow! He’s a good player! But it keeps your mind going/working.

Good plan! Your motivation for playing Scrabble with Fred is the same as mine for playing Rummy with G. He is a lot calmer, etc. when he has that to look forward to. But- I wish he played Scrabble.

I love scrabble. Such a wonderful game that requires the brain to be thinking. That should help keep you both from getting gloomy. I am so happy that he seems to be showing small improvements. You’re so patient and understanding. The way you put things in perspective is an inspiration.

When you play Scrabble do you stick with the adjusted American spellings or do you feel tempted to use the proper British spellings? 😉

Yes, you’ve got to keep him focused on something besides the four walls. Scrabble is a good idea.

I don’t know what is wrong with the birds here at our new house. We have feeders out. The only time they have eaten from them is just after the last snowstorm. Now they are gone again. Maybe they get up earlier than us and have already eaten? Will stay on the case. The deer have no trouble hanging our around here though.

Hi there! Found you at random. Thought I’d say hello 🙂 We have had some bad weather here, too. But ours was snow rather than ice. Ice scares me more. Have a great day!

We have a squirrel problem here, so no feeder out, alas. Every now and then we get a blue jay or cardinal coming through the yard, but not nearly enough! They are so beautiful though.
