Missing Cane and PT

This morning, I told Fred I would go to the grocery store and get a few things that were really necessary {like bagels for me} before he goes to do the big shop. So this morning, off I went to Shaws. I get everything on the list and paid for my stuff. Then the woman who was bagging and putting stuff in my cart fished out my purple cane and put it at the front balanced across the cart. She said she was doing it so I didn’t forget it which was nice of her, I thought, but a bit silly because even if it was covered by groceries, I would see it when I put the groceries into the trunk of my car! Anyway, I somehow managed to not have it when I got home! Fred came out and helped me unload and he put stuff away while I went back to the store. Now, the last time I left the cane, it was there in the cart when I got back. But this time,  I went in and asked if anyone had turned it in. Nope! I left my name and phone number in hopes, though! Now, I do have another cane, but it isn’t pretty like the purple flowery one! And I have a definite feeling that I have put the purple one  somewhere unusual. I looked in the kitchen and in the back of my car behind the seats but no go. Anyway, I will use the other one for a couple of days {plain metal} and if the pretty one doesn’t turn up, I will buy another pretty one–maybe sunflowers this time!

Yesterday I spent an hour at physical therapy. Most of the hour was taken up by me doing paperwork and by the PT person testing what I could or couldn’t do but I did get about 15 minutes doing exercises in the pool which, I was told, had a temperature of 90 degrees! It was lovely and just like a warm bath. I didn’t feel as if I was working hard but found I really needed the nap I took when I got home. I don’t know when I will be going again becaise the scheduling person was out and was supposed to call me yesterday, but she may call today. If she doesn’t, I will call and get it set up myself.

trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change

your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to

correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working."

When I lose something – which is pretty often – I always wish I’d stuck an address label on it. Makes it easier for someone to get it back to you – if they are so inclined. Sunflowers sound interesting – kinda like the plastic flowers they tape on pens so you don’t accidentally take them.

I hate losing things cuz I NEVER seem to be able to find them. I hope your pretty purple cane shows up. Maybe you should get a sunflower cane, too, though, even if it does! :o) !! hugs, Nicky

I can’t wait to see where you find it. 😉 That girl at the store must have been psychic. How else would she know it was going to get lost?

I’ll say a St. Anthony Novena for you….he’s the patron saint of lost things…. P/T in the pool sounds good to me!!! Loves to you! M

{{{HUGS}}},

Ha, the cane probably got lost because it was on top of the basket then fell off. That’s my guess. I hope someone turns it in.

I hope your cane shows up! And I meant to ask you this a few days ago but it totally slipped my mind: one of my friends’ grandma wants to get a kindle so it can read her the bible (which is the main reason she wants it) and the bookmark feature sounds like its something she really likes. Is there anything other than those two features that you really like, and is there anything that you dislike? Anything that you would tell people who are considering buying a kindle (or other e-reader)?

I’m one of those persons who loses everything I touch! One time I hid a $100 bill inside a volume of the encyclopedia and I NEVER found it again! I wanted to hide it from my first hubby and that’s the payback I guess! LOL Hope you find your cane, dear!

sounds as if it had been quite a beautiful cane. I bought a dragon one years ago for whenever I’ll need it. It’s wood and the top is a dragon head with a marble in its mouth – cost about $2.
