Miscellaneous Unrelated Stuff

I have been for a walk and came back so hot that I actually had a drop of sweat fall on my glasses! I am not looking forward to the rest of today…

I don’t own too many DVDs. For a DVD to make it into my collection, I must know that I am going to see it again and most of the stuff out there is hardly worth seeing once never mind again. Here is my small collection {in no particualr order}

  1. "Star Wars" but only the first three shown in the theatres. It was all downhill from then on. Mind you, I have heard good things about the last one…
  2. "Lord of the Rings". I got the first one from Netflix and was hooked.
  3. "I, Claudius" I don’t know why I like this so much. Well, Derek Jacobi, of course, but although I liked him in the Cadfael series, I don’t want to buy it. I loved the books by Robert Graves so that is what it probably is.
  4. "Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail" This is SO silly and SO funny!
  5. "Grease " I love the music and the dancing.

I am feel very much better this morning. I am not sneezing or coughing and I don’t feel stuffed up at all although I still have to blow my nose occasionally. I have not taken a cold capsule since yesterday. I feel normal! My immune system is back doing its usual terrific job. {And Fred got a kiss before I went out for a walk this morning!I am considering going to the mall to get my hair cut this afternoon {and to be in air conditioning} But, on the other hand, we have an airconditioned bedroom and I have two library books…

Until later..

Stay cool today and good news to hear you are on the mend.

I loved Grease. Some of the jazzier tunes are on my MP3 player for workouts at the gym. They bring me to life when I’m almost dead. LOL. I hated the ending, though… that whole thing with her turning into a tramp and the car flying away. Just ruined the whole thing for me. LOL!

Grease is one of my favorites too. I want the Star Wars original three, just haven’t purchased them yet.

too hot!!! saw on a bank thermometer that it was already 95 degrees at 10:30 this morning. it almost feels like it, too. take care,

You’ve been added 🙂 Your diary front story is very inspiring. I am over 250 pounds now, and am really starting to weaken as I get older. I hate this. Your plan sounds wise. Looking forward to readying more of your entries!

I have never seen any of the Lord of the Rings films. Or read the books. I think I may be the only person on earth…

I agree with you about Star Wars. The original ones were amazing. 🙂

I thought it was Derek Jacobi, not David. Anyway, I remember when it was first shown on PBS back in the 70’s, I think, and I loved every minute.

those are great movies to have for a collection. I have to replace my original three Star Wars videos with DVD’s. Hazel has worn them out. 🙂

Episode III was very good. there was a thing or two i would have changed or included, but overall i found it a very good movie. i think you will enjoy it. aka Star Wars Freak =

Grease is one of my all time favorites too. I loved the music and the movie. I remember going to it several times when I was in the 7th grade.

Glad you are starting to feel better. Keep cool!

Ooooooo, I’d opt for the AC and the books!! Haircuts don’t rank high with me…I just trim my bangs and let the rest GO! Love ya! ~M

I, Claudius is great — it’s one of the best things the BBC ever did, and the cast, well, the cast is astounding. Sian Philips for me, was the best — her Livia was so calculating, so evil, that you couldn’t help but like her.

I vote for the air conditioned bedroom and books. Because if I ever had time alone and nothing calling my name I would do just that 😉

: ) *huggs* and I seem to have caught your cold and I definately not remember smooching with you!

ac is the best invention EVER. Very hot and humid here today. Got to school the ac was out. Pretty sure I smell. lol r

I, too like only the first three Star Wars, although my grandsons have made sure that I own them all. Lord of the Rings is OK, but they chose Aragorn wrongly. I, Claudius is an old PBS favorite, which I ponder buying every time the PBS catalog comes out. OK, you convince me to try. Renting Grease tomorrow. 😕

Forgot Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. when I first saw it, I kept thinking, “They didn’t say that. they didn’t do that!” Come to think of it, I saw it a few days ago and had the same reaction.

I’m glad to hear you are feeling a little better. I think the books and the air conditioned bedroom would win if I had to choose.

August 10, 2005

I’m glad you’re feeling better. I wish I could be more choosey in what DVDs I buy… I have FAR too many. Hehe. Although everything I have I do watch over and over 🙂

Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. I know Brian will never evolve or change. I really appreciate the nuggets of wisdom that you have given me. You’re very perceptive and very kind.

i don’t own any dvds. except for a schoolhouse rock one.

It’s been sweltering here, too. Enough to make one’s glasses sweat! 🙂 I actually read that bit about measuring the oil before measuring the sticky ingredients ages ago and it has made my cooking life much easier. Won’t it be nice when autumn comes so we can enjoy walking in coolness, baking, etc.? hugs, Weesprite
