Miscellanea

  • I want a Kindle. But…
  • do I want it $400 worth? Anyway, it is on my wish list while I think about it.
  • A sure-fire way to make it rain for two days is to drag out my bike, search all over the house for the pump, find the pump, pump up the tires, wrestle the bike out the back door and down the stairs and park it on the grass outside. Voila! Two days of rain!
  • So, if I wrestle the bike up the steps, dry it off and put it back in the front area, the rain should stop, right?
  • Just as a matter of note, an inhalation aerosol is NOT as easy to use as the pharmacist makes it appear.
  • But it does stop me wheezing. {An entry on the joys of the walk-in clinic back thataways, <——–}
  • Monday I must call and make a follow-up appointment with my own doctor. The paperwork I was given when I left the walk-in place also said to get a pneumonia shot every five years. I know I have had one and I am pretty sure it was over five years ago.
  • Yesterday I drove to the library and walked down the long and fairly steep handicapped ramp with no problems. I was dismayed to discover I had to stop three times to get my breath back walking up the ramp. Before this bronchitis, I walked up it with no problems.
  • This morning I am having a bagel and cream cheese, a banana and coffee for breakfast.
  • I made a second loaf of banana bread yesterday in the bread machine. I cut the sugar down to half a cup and it was still good.
  • I thought a lot last night about why I am spending so much money lately on things that I don’t need but want. At the moment, it is science-fiction DVDs. And, have I mentioned  the Kindle is beckoning  me?
  • Both Fred and I have cold sores. It is unusual for him to get them. No "proper" kisses for either of us!
  • I could spend my stimulus money on a Kindle. This would be good for the economy, right?

The Kindle is enticing. Very cool. Hey, it’s your money.

i don’t know that i’d want a kindle. you have to pay about $10 per book you get and it’s just as easy to get them at the library and not have to buy them. i read 5 to 10 books a month… that’s $50 to $100 a month for me. i can’t afford that. if i could afford it and all the books i wanted… i’d get it in a heartbeat! if it’s beckoning you, then, why not? something to think about that’s for sure. take your bike back upstairs… i want the rain to stop! i hope you get to feeling better soon. take care,

The inhaler gets easier with practice. Trust an expert on its use. (me)

i’d like a kindle, too, but not $400 worth. I bet the price will come down in time.

If it will make your life more exciting and you want to try it, why not? You will get stronger and manage that ramp without any stops one day, I know you have the willpower and determination to do it.

One of my friends is a manager at Borders, he’s trying to entice me into buying a Kindle with his family/friends discount. Clearly, he’s made of evil. 🙂 Be well,

With the Kindle is there a group of book trading/sharing people that you might join. Kind of like Netflix but for readers. Glad you went to a real Doctor. And so glad Fred knows you and can feed more than the heart! have fun… dr. dan

Just what I needed, to learn about yet another new electronic gadget to tempt me! It does look pretty cool and I think if you really want one and can afford to buy it, you should have one. Yes, it’s good for the economy!

Glad you got your lungs checked even if it means an inhaler. And now… I wish I could get more motivated with my bike.

I confess that I think I would hate a Kindle, but that’s because I love holding real books in my hand and still prefer to go to a good bookshop to buy them… although Amazon is so handy when you know what you want and you want it fast. Still, I hope you have lots of fun with yours.

The kindle looks net! A little pricey, but as much as you read I’m sure you would enjoy it tremendously. And hey, ya only live once, right? Hugs, M
