Midday
One step nearer going to England. This morning a bank-person called and my English money is in. It cost me as-near-as-makes no difference twice the dollars as I got in pounds! So, if something costs me, say, 10 pounds, I have to think of it as $20.
I have been for a walk even though at first, my hip hurt a lot. But I did take my naproxyn {generic Aleve} and once the iPod Shuffle started playing something brisk, I dropped into brisk walking, and, interestingly, my hip eventually didn’t hurt at all. I am still amazed that moving is the way to reduce pain from arthritis. I mean, it is against all logic, right? If something hurts when you do that, then, common sense tells you to stop doing that! But this is not true of arthritis pain. The more I move, the less pain I have. The main reason, I think, that I was in pain this morning was that I have not been walking in this hot weather. Well, if I can walk in below-zero temperatures, I guess I can walk when it is humid! And, of course, the naproxyn dulls the edge of the very small amount of pain I do have.
The loaf in the bread machine is smelling very good.
Mike forgot to come up and get the old monitor to take to recycle.
More later…

The heat and humidity will probably help loosen up muscles quicker…although it’s awful hard to get out there and do it. 🙂

Naproxyn is good stuff. It is interesting, and almost illogical, that movement that causes pain will eventually make the pain subside.

Have you ever tried yoga? I swear it does wonders for my back.

Walking in humid weather saps you of energy faster than the cold, though. You have to be a little careful and be sure to take water with you!

My mother in law suffers from terrible arthritis. I’m wondering if moving more would help her. It just seems like when she has her pain, she can’t move at all. While we were visiting she was in pain while driving and when she finally pulled in the driveway, her hands hurt so bad she couldn’t get the keys out of the ignition. Terrible thing.

Ryn: Thank you 🙂 I don’t envy you having arthritis and I hope I don’t get it for a long time yet to come. You’re sharing the bread, right? 😉 Rose
