Lazy Day

The bread machine is driving me bonkers!  The pan keeps slipping out of its side clips and I have to hit Pause and reset it. I have not as yet worked out how to always put it in so it doesn’t slip when the machine starts kneading. I know it can be done because I have {accidentally} done it. I just can’t do it deliberately every time. I may need to get Fred to look at it and explain it to me. He is very patient and logical about things like this and I am of the shove-it-in-there-and-press-the-button school of thinking! Which reminds me, he is going to put my new super-duper very comfortable chair-with-a-high-back together when he gets up, he said. He was up around 3-ish this morning and still up when I got up at 7-ish so he has gone back to get the rest of his night’s sleep. When this kind of insomnia thing happens to me, I try to tough it out until after 10 pm because if I go back to bed, I feel bad when I wake up and also my following night’s sleep gets messed up.

When I have finished writing this, I am going to call my sister in England and tell her the dates I am coming. I leave here on July 14th {Bastille Day as Fred remarked!} and arrive in Bristol in England at 8:55 am on the 15th. I looked at my bank statement on line this morning and was initially panicked over this huge amount of money that had come out but then I realized it was for my ticket!  I had prepared for it by transferring money into the account from my savings so I don’t know whay I was so shocked to see it come out!
Drawing class– I have finished most of my assignment to copy Vincent Van Gogh’s ink drawing of his painting "Peasant." I can now see some parts that need darkening which is something I am always tentative about but I will do that later. The second part of the assignment is to plan out a sketch of a landscape which we will do in class in ink in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. I think that is how we are going to do it…. Personally, I would rather do it in my style but I will go with what Jean {the instructor} says. Every assignment she has given us so far has taught me something. This one has taught me a lot about how to use short pen strokes with dots and lines to make a rounded object on a flat paper. Mind you, I got a bit carried away with all the dots in the background. I found myself making patterns . Well, Van Gogh does this too, but mine are more emphatic than his. The emerging of my personal style, I suppose!

OK, time to send an email to my sister and then call her to tell her I have done this. I am calling her to tell her because I am not sure how much she is getting up and going to her computer these days. Anyway, I want to talk to her, too.

Then at 12:45,  I am off for my fortnightly massage at 1 pm…

Until later..

Yay more artwork! I’m of the shove-it-in-and-push-the-button school of thinking too. That doesn’t always work out for me 🙂

Ooh, Bristol. I’m there 😉 Do you fly to a bigger airport first and then on to Bristol? If not, I didn’t know they did flights to/from america, apart from New York.

I bet it cost a lot with only a month notice, but it will be soooo worth it!
