Later on Wednesday

Well, let’s see. What has happened today? Working backwards, we have just said goodnight to Bill, Fred’s friend who left after dropping in and sharing our meal. Fred is taking a nap. Earlier in the day I walked for 30 minutes and then I walked to the drug store to get some non-drowsy anti-histamine for Fred whose skin is itching.

Malcom came up to visit {well, I went downstairs and got him, actually. He is clever, but not so clever that he drops in for visits!} I am wondering if the neighbor is filling up his water bowl because when I offered him some water, he drank a lot with enthusiam. Mike and Melanie should be back some time tonight. We expect to know exactly when because Malcolm welcomes them every day with barks and after being away from them for so long, I expect he will bark loudly and do the roll-on-their-feet-I-am-so-cute-scratch-my-tummy routine!

The visiting nurse comes tomorrow. She called and said that a Physical Therapy person will be getting in touch with us soon. The nurse is going to test Fred’s level of oxygen. He has had the machine off for two days {his choice} and says he feels no need for the oxygen. The nurse said that the doctor has already given permission to drop to a lower level {from 5 liters a minute} if he still needs it. He also told me that he has started thinking about tackling the stairs—organizing it in his mind which I consider a very positive first step..

When I got up this morning, the snow was back but it is not very deep and it is nice and crunchy to walk on with no ice hiding under it.

Tonight I will take half a Klonopin. I took this dose at 5 am and slept until 9 am. I do not like sleeping that late and I have felt groggy most of the day. If I can get back on track with my sleeping as I was before last night I can stop taking them. I haven’t taken one for a couple of weeks and was sleeping normally .

Oh, and my trackball was back when I booted up when I got up. It was a trifle slow but I got a tissue, popped out the ball and cleaned it and the inside, and now it is back to normal.

Off to watch my last Star Wars  movie.

Until later…

Glad to read that Fred is feeling better. I haven’t been exercising for a few months. I just can’t get up the motivation.

I’m glad there is no ice under your snow. My front porch is nothing but ice.

I’m glad that Fred is working on his Positive Attitude. That can-do, will-do thought process is, indeed, a good step.

It’s good to hear that Fred is planning these sorts of things. It’s all about the small steps. May the Force be with you! hee hee.

my trackball was a little sluggish today too, I had to clean it out. I don’t like any other kind of mouse now. 🙂

Hi Patrisha, I am happy that things are progressing well. Sounds like Fred is on the upswing, and you, too! Be careful walking outside in that wintry terrain!! Love, Anna

A dog named Malcom. We have a friend who brings her dog Alice over. She and Malcom might enjoy becoming friends. Alice and Malcom. Hmmmm?
