Last Entry from Vermont
So, I am sitting on the side of the bed ready to do the last things I have to do before I fly away!
List of what I have to do before I go:
- strip the bed and find room in my bigger suitcase for two sheets, an electric mattress warmer, a pad I put on because there is a hole in the mattress and the pillow and the old comforter. If there is no room for the last two, they will go in the recycle bin outside.
- And that is it!
I am SO happy it is almost all over. At 2:15, my friend Janice is coming to pick me up and take me to lunch at a very nice place and then she will take me to the airport where I will eventually fly away to NC. Jake is going to meet me if the roads are not icy. If they are, I will take a cab which will cost a lot but be well worth it rather than worrying about him being killed coming to get me. He is a good driver {and, I am happy to say, much more cautious than his brother} but you know how mothers are! We worry….
He sent me email apologizing for not having got the bed, internet access etc set up for me but he has had flu or a flu-ish type of infection and has been at home and sick. I am not mad because normally he is pretty reliable and no one can help being ill. I reminded him that we have got lots of time once I am at his house and if he can only get this stuff done on weekends, well, that is the way it is. And I will have more time with his "knuckleheads" which is how he refers to Rocky and Nimbus, his cats!
So, now I am off to have half a can of soup, crackers and some yogurt which is the last of the supplies I laid in to get me through these last few days. {I had the other half of the soup and the last banana at 3 am!}
Next entry from NC!!!

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}

I clearly remember those off meals made up of whatever was left, was already open, too hard to transport, ot worth transporting … it will be downhill now, and you’ll have fun feathering your new nest.

How exciting, and a little sad. I can certainly sympathize with having the flu and not being able to get anything done. I’m glad you have such a good attitude about it! Safe travels….
