I am Still Alive

  • My interest  in writing here comes and goes and right now it is on the low end of the cycle. I am reading my favorites but just don’t seem to have the energy to write. Things will get better. They always do.
  • Today I got to town to get a new four-cup coffee maker. The one that Fred has had longer than he has had me as been slowly deteriorating and finished its life with a dramatic {but accidental}  smash on the floor. We happen to have a 12 pot maker which we use when we have company and we have been making four cups in that for about three days. But now we have a real four cup maker with the ability to turn itself on a a preprogrammed time. Of course, we don’t actually need this ability since we get up at different times depending when we wake up! Oh, and now we have three clocks in the kitchen to be reset when the power goes off…
  • I took a list with me when I went to town today and forgot the middle-sized skillet Fred asked me to get and I forgot to put on the list.
  • But I also forgot the Swiffer wet-mop clothes which were on the list!
  • The Kindle is still being used a lot. I am at the moment making my way through Ian Rankin’s Inspector Rebus books.

i do that too sometimes forget things that are on the list. lol i call them brainfarts because i don’t get the excuse to say its’ old age. The coffee maker sounds nice. good quotes the first one sounds like from that old show.

I hate forgetting things on my list. I blame it on Ben…except he isn’t always with me! Many days, I feel like not writing.

I’ve grown to rely on my lists so much that I just can’t remember enything if it isn’t written down. I’d have done the same thing, if it’s any consolation!

I think I gave up on the various clocks in the kitchen a while ago — we were going through a cycle of brownouts, and I couldn’t keep up any more. I too seem to be on the low end of the writing and all, but then there’s not much going on. Except for the mouse hunt!

I always forget at least one thing when I go shopping, even when I take a list. I also have one of those programable 4 cup coffee maker and I never use the timer. Seems to be too much trouble to make coffee the night before. Take care, hugs r

I forget at least one thing every time I go shopping. At least!

I do that all the time with shopping. I aggravate myself so much sometimes! A programmable coffeemaker would be very nice. Of course, I very seldom make coffee any more (trying to cut back on caffeine consumption), so I guess it doesn’t matter now. Write when you feel the urge. I’ll be here when you come back! (((Hugs)))

I was very proud of myself for remembering two of the three items I absolutely “HAD” to get at the store today…. but then I realized I’d forgotten the third “must get” item! Of course, I made no list. I never do, cuz for me, lists don’t help. I can manage to read a list and not even SEE half of what’s written on it! hugs, Weesprite

I love Ian Rankin books! It’s even better because I know all the places that he talks about like the Oxford Bar!

I am lucky that where I live the power stays on. My mother lives in California and the power cuts off every so often.

I usually make out a list and leave it on the counter when I go shopping!

I always forget things on my list. I don’t know how but it always happens..

July 22, 2008

I’ve been in a non writing mood lately. But, even when I’m on a good streak I worse than your slow time! 🙂

July 22, 2008

i’m big on lists, but then i have to look at them, and well, sometimes i do and sometimes i don’t…. 🙂

Guess I should have made that clear. Admin actually gave each of us ONE gallon bag to use for cell phones. We are to put the phone in the bag with the referral and take them to the front office. 1st time the student gets it back at the end of the next day (too many parents complained so this year they get it back at the end of the day). 2nd time they lose it for a week and third time a month and the parent has to come and collect it. Supposedly that has remained the same but admin will cave as they always do. So I bought my own box of bags and will be ready. Not sure if we were supposed to build up a number of them for that ONE bag or what. lol r

I always make 6 cups of coffee regardless of how much I drink. It’s embedded. lol.

I have trouble thinking of things to write about too. You’re making me want a Kindle!

Writing is a mood thing. It’s best to just ride with it, I think.

July 23, 2008

I’m really not writing very much at all on OD anymore. I’ll have to put it on my list.

Well…just the fact that you can see the low ebb and fight it is something.
