I Am Here or Even There!

Well, I made it. here I am in CHILLY Mississippi! But there is no snow and I have seen a couple of blooming trees so I know that spring actually has arrived.

I am at the library and things have changed a lot computerwise. Now instead of someone coming to tell me my hour is up, there is a timer and I have to sign in on the computer with my library-card number and a PIN!

The journey was tiring but OK . All the planes were full even the little puddle-jumper from Memphis to Pine Belt. I have done this journey every year for five years and have never seen this before. I guess it has to do with the snow that delayed me a day.

This morning when I got up I was a bit stiff and sore which has to do with all the walking around airports and the fact that for the longest stretch of the journey, I had a window seat. In some ways this was nice but I much prefer and usually ask for an aisle seat so I can get up occasionally and stretch my legs out into the aisle. I did ask if it was possible to change but, as I said, all the planes were full {and some overbooked} and it was only a small, one-time thing so I endured it with a reasonable facsimile of a smile!

When I am through here, I will first get a couple of books and then I am off to the local Tiny Mall to see if the manager of the chain bookstore is there. I used to work for her part time when I lived here and we became good friends. She and I usually go out for lunch together when I am visiting.

Then, I may go over to the Gigantic Mall the next town over and do some window shopping or not. it is lovely to be able to get out without being concerned about the state of the sidewalks and the roads. I love living in Vermont but winter there cannot be considered one of the state’s charms!

I have just checked the timer on this computer and have a whole 29 minutes left! LOL

So, I am off to do a bit of reading of my favorites. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Until later…

I’m glad you’re enjoying your time there so far. And being cramped into an airplane can make you stiff indeed!

Glad you made the trip safely. Have a great time!

I hate window seats too. I have bad knees and I’m on the tall side. But, sometimes you have to just grin and bear it. Have fun on vacation! ~rory

Airline seats are just ridiculous these days. They are designed for someone about 5′ tall and not weighing over 80 lbs.

“Pine Belt”? I’m fairly familiar with geography (although I’ve been in Mississippi only once), but that one escapes me. And you can FLY to it? Have a wonderful time.

Enjoy your time down there because it is about to snow again up here and there will be more snow in the north country than Boston so that means Fred. I am so sick of it too. I will be glad when the sidewalks are passable and I don’t have to worry about my footing either. That library is liberal with the time. Where I go in Plymouth, Mass it is a 20 min suggestion. (if it aint busy I stay on)
