Hot Water? Nope!*

EDIT: And still no hot water. The gas company came, looked and left us with the paperwork that the landlord has to sign. And they will be coming back tomorrow perhaps in the morning or perhaps in the early afternoon. I boiled a kettle full of water and washed my hair in the bathroom sink thus I feel a little better…

I feel as though today has been a totally wasted day. We are STILL waiting for a hot water heater. The gas people are supposed to come sometime  this afternoon. The landlord came about 30 minutes ago and told us. He also said he is not buying a tank but renting it for about $7 a month! When it is installed and turned on, I am going to have a shower. It is odd how knowing one cannot have something makes that something the only thing in life one wants!

I had pre-ordered Michael Connelly’s book latest book {the Kindle version} which came out today. I turned on the Whispernet and I didn’t even have to go to the "look for new items" choice before there  the book was on the top of my home page. I normally don’t keep the Whispernet turned on because it sucks life out of the battery. With no Whispernet, which is really Sprint’s wireless network, the battery needs charging about once a week; keeping the downloading wireless facility turned on means it has to be charged every second day…

Having to rent a hot water heater would set off some alarm bells about the state of this guy’s finances.

Renting a hot water heater – that’s most curious…

renting a hot water heater is odd. have never heard of such a thing. am hoping you get your shower later this afternoon. i remember the week raymond and i had to shower at my daughter’s til they could get my well pump fixed. don’t realize how much you want something til you can’t have it. take care,

I can absolutely relate on this issue after all the problems I had back in Plymouth with the pipes breaking. I really hope that they get this taken care of tomorrow as early as possible.

I went through lack of hot water in the summer – it was withstandable (a word?). In the winter, I HOPE not!

I guess the upside of renting a water heater means that he won’t have to deal with it. He strikes me as a rather lazy landlord. He’d rather pay somebody else to worry about things. Sometimes a sponge bath in the sink just doesn’t cut it.

I hope to get the KINDLE right before I leave for Florida. I am sure you will enjoy the shower once you have hot water.

Good golly! I think that that landlord should pay to put you and Fred up in a nice hotel until he has a water heater in there for you! My Dad lived without a water heater for sixteen years, insisting he enjoyed it that way….but few people are like my Dad was! hugs, Weesprite

I didn’t even know that renting a hot water heater was even possible! We are going to get a tankless one when ever ours quits working.

Oh my goodness! Renting the hot water heater! Is the landlord serious? Isn’t there something the state can do about that? Isn’t that abuse of being a landlord? Gezz. Is he charging you rent for the air you breathe inside the rental property as well?

RYN: Thank you for the note. I take about 15 medications a day. I get some strange looks from people working at the pharmacy. I don’t know if my age has anything to do w/ it or the fact that I don’t appear sick. Of course what’s wrong w/ me is all on the inside. People are strange.

I hope you get hot water soon!

I’m thinkin’ if he rents it and something goes wrong with it, it will be the Gas company’s problem, not his, yes? That’s sorta smart if you ask me. Love to you! ~M
