Good Stuff

I have had two pretty good days in terms of getting things done. Yesterday I not only got the washing and drying and putting away of laundry done, but also vacuumed and steam-mopped the bedroom floor. The reason I felt it was a good day is that I got done what I wanted to get done and wasn’t totally exhausted and/or having to lie down because my back was hurting so much. Today was also good in the same way. I got out early and got to the opticians. It took about an hour to get the new lenses in the old frames so I wandered half-blind around Walmarts and had some hot chocolate. I was astounded when I put on the glasses with the new lenses. The prescription is just the same but being able to see without the scratches was amazing. I really didn’t realize what a negative difference those deep scratches made.

I then came home and because my back was hurting just a tiny bit, lay on the bed for a while and read. Then I got the grocery list Fred had made for me, added a couple of things from my list on the refrigerator and headed out to the grocery store. When my back is hurting, it is agony bringing the grocery bags up three steps and to the back door. Today I managed it with very little effort. When I get the bags to the door, they are handed off to Fred who unpacks them and puts most of the groceries away. I usually do the few cans which go on the shelves. My supper tonight was Doritos and onion dip!

Tomorrow I am going to continue with art stuff. I first plan on doing some background papers and then perhaps I will plan how I am going to decorate the canvas shoes I bought last year especially for that purpose! I won’t get them done tomorrow, indeed, I won’t even get them started tomorrow, but I will do step one which is thinking about them! LOL

I am grateful for Doritos and onion dip which is exactly what I felt like eating tonight!

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people

to know why I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the

roads weren’t paved.

Doritos and onion dip sound like a wonderful supper! I made this huge pot of Taco Soup (new recipe) and, although I used mild taco mix and mild Rotelle tomatoes, it was a little spicy for our taste.

It takes much longer than most Drs. tell us about the full recovery from major surgery-like joints, especially hip replacement. Your constitution has as much to do with this as anything. You have maintained a positive attitude and kept on, keeping on. The true secret in life! be well; peace…dan

Wow, you are an inspiration! I’m so glad that you are feeling better. May it continue!

Yummy supper sounds good. You got alot accomplished. I think once our weather warms up and the sun shines around here I will have more energy. It snowed all night and half the morning today. Thank god it didn’t stay.
