Getting Stuff Done

I can’t remember if I mentioned here that after I got back from Lucca, I weighed no more than I was when I left!  That was the walking. I walked every day I was there except for one day when it was raining heavily. I have always been aware that what gets weight off for me is not cutting down on food {Unless I am eating huge amounts} but actually walking. Yesterday and today I walked. I have walked fast enough to get my heart rate up and keep it up there. I have decided that I will give myself a week of walking once a day and try to get to where I can walk my one-and-a-half-miles routes with ease. Right now, I am definitely feeling muscle pain in my butt muscles! Today I added a little more to what I walked yesterday but I am still not doing the full one-and-a-half miles. Once I am comfortable with this, I will walk in the morning and in the afternoon.

Things to get done today:

  • call to find out where opthalmology department is. I have an appointment tomorrow. {This has been done thanks to Fred finding the telephone number for me}
  • Walk at least as far as I did yesterday; a little more would be better. {Already done and I did do a little more}
  • Put the summer clothes away and put the winter clothes where I can get to them easily. {I have started this}
  • Put the fan in the workroom away.
  • get the photos out of the camera and into the computer…
  • Play with the photos!

It is easy to tell I am feeling more settled being at home than I was a few days ago because I am making lists again!

Glad you’re settling back in. We need our winter clothes here today. Glad I took care of that chore before I left for NY!!!! Great job on the walking!!! Before you know it you’ll be doing more than a mile and a half! Hugs, M

As long as the butt pain is the “good” kind of hurt, then keep up the good work!

You just wouldn’t be Patricia without your lists, right? Welcome back!

that’s wonderful. And I will try to take a walk myself this afternoon, of course that depends on how I feel by the time I get home. And it gets dark much sooner too.

ryn: Something from the local old fashioned traditional sweet shop. 🙂

Ah, winter. I know it’s there, but don’t feel it so much here. Although it’s been cool enough the last few days for us to actually open windows and not roast. Nice to exchange old A/C’d air for fresh! Glad you’re doing well. Love to you! ~M

You are sounding much better — I’m like you, the walking is really the only way I can keep losing weight, unless I starve myself, and that’s not good. Can’t wait to see those photos!

I love making lists! RYN: Yea for you for being in remission for so long!!! =)

I just love my early morning walks with my friend Debbie. Such a great way to start the day….
