Friday Thoughts

  • Today {or tomorrow but I am choosing to think today! } is the day the first contractor told Jake that he  would have some information  for us.  I will be checking all day for email from Jake!
  • These two contractors we are getting quotes from were not just randomly picked from the phone book. Redhat, where Jake works, has a list of "these people did a good job for me" and they both came from that list.
  • Jake burned some really nice incense  while I was there so I rummaged around here yesterday and found Fred’s incense holder and a few sticks and burned two of them last night. The incense  is called Musk and although it isn’t my favorite, it was nice and I liked the way I could still faintly smell it this morning.
  • I am having to drink my tea without milk this morning!
  • I am feeling much better than I felt yesterday. I am still a bit physically achy so I won’t go buy groceries today but I do have to pick up a prescription this afternoon so I will get milk and bread at the drugstore. {Doing two jobs with one trip really pleases me!}
  • Short pause here to figure out what i can have for breakfast  when I have no bread or bagels; I had a bowl of tomato soup and crackers…
  • I went to sleep at 11 pm last night and woke at 10  this morning which is astoundingly late for me.
  • I am going to do a few little jobs around here today but nothing strenuous. Between these little jobs I will continue watching {actually, rewatching} the last season of "Farscape."
  • I just looked at my calendar and notice that in the first week of October I have appointments with my dentist and my ophthalmologist.
  • Just got a phone call from my older son which was very nice. I had to call him back, though because my phone was in my purse and the purse had to be tracked down!

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)

If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And when I am for myself, what am ‘I’? And if not now, when?

glad you got the rest you needed. don’t you think food items are more expensive at the drugstore than at the grocery store? if not, then i want your drugstore!! cameron and nick were burning some incense a couple of days ago and good heavens… it smelled awful!! had to close the door to the basement so i wouldn’t have to smell it anymore. hope all works out with the estimates for your apartment to be built attached to your son’s house. take care,

I hope you get those estimates today! Glad you got rested up! I’ve been hungry for tomato soup and grilled cheese but I don’t have any bread, gonna have to make a trip to the market.

Tomato soup with crackers sounds like a perfectly yummy breakfast! :o) !! Our favorite incense is Nag Champa. Have you ever tried that scent? I’m glad you got such a good long sleep! We don’t have to set our alarm tomorrow, so I hope we manage to sleep late! hugs, Nicky

Glad you are home safe:) Can’t wait to hear what the contractor says!

Just had a flashback to the 60’s when hippies burned incense to mask the scent of pot. I didn’t do that, but I knew people who did. LOL! Isn’t it great to be home and in your own bed? Getting away is great, but coming home just feels so … welcoming. 🙂

I have a great movie recommendation for you. I bought it recently. It is called “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”. 😀

I hope the estimates are reasonable.

Burning incense always reminds me of marijuana….they are one in the same to my senses. LOL. I like it myself, but can only burn about 1/4 of a stick at a time or it’s overpowering. I like when I can get 2 things in one trip. I’m a planner like that, too.
