Friday Evening

Today has been a very good day on the whole. I got the second 30 minute walk in the early afternoon and got back just when the snow was starting to come down heavily. Then, I decided there was no point in just continuing to look at the pile of paperwork on my desk and on the table. It was time to do something about it. And before I ran out of energy, I managed to get the better part of it done. I have emptied my shredder out and have an additional  brown-paper bag full of recyclable paper to put out in the proper bin in the morning. My plan for tomorrow is to be able to see my desktop! All the paper I have to deal with is in two piles. On on the table is stuff to still deal with, and, believe me, this is MUCH smaller than it was this morning, and there is a much smaller pile on the desk ready to be filed. And now I AM really out of energy. One good thing that I found while I was cleaning up was a $25 gift certificate to Land’s End that I haven’t used yet!

Things to do tomorrow:

  1. Finish disposing of/dealing with all the paperwork.
  2. Walk down to the post office and mail stuff that needs mailing including the Applebees gift certificate for my older son. I have just remembered it is in my purse still.
  3. Maybe go to JC Penney’s at the mall and get one of the face protectors I saw there? This might wait until another day actually because I really don’t like malls on weekend and since I am now a woman of total leisure, why should I have to go on weekend with all the people who only have that day?
  4. Walk, of course.

Now, maybe I can check out Land’s End on line and see what I can get with my gift certificate.

Until later…

Hi! I was thinking of you today! After I got home from a crazy day of shopping I was talking to my mother-in-law about how I’d had my pedometer on all day.. she wanted to know how much we walked! It was OVER 10,000 steps! YAY! I’d forgotten I had it on! I told her that’s what she SHOULD be doing and she about fell over! LOL! Lucky you w/snoW!! I’m jealous! I moved south and miss it now! ~ Carrie

Paperwork? Does it ever end? Great that you are doing so much walking. Once I get to Florida I will start exercising.

As always, you inspire me. Today I am going to start by making a list of things I am going to do, too. Then hopefully I might actually DO them! Happy walking today! How much snow do you have by now? Weesprite

Patrisha, about your Lands End gift certificate — do you get their mailings? If not, get on their list. They send out a catalog, every few months, with “Overstocks” in it, greatly reduced prices. Almost my entire wardrobe, albeit small, is from Land’s End. I love that place, though now that Sears owns them, they are not quite so good. What the heck, is Sears buying the world? Anna

I love that someone asked if you get a catalog. I swear Lands End sends out a catalog a week. Between them, Lane Bryant and Just My Size, I think that I could fill an entire room with catalogs just from the last six months! Hope you find something good.

After I move to my home office, I’ll be doing the trek to the post office daily. It will make a nice little walk. I agree with you about avoiding the malls on the weekends if you can.

My thought exactly: When I am retired, I will NOT shop on Saturday.
