First Evening Class

I went to my first jazzercize class this evening. It was interesting. The instructor is a twenty-something woman and the class members are six women ranging in age from 30-ish to me. Two of the women are very overweight. I am not one of those two.

We spent about 10 minutes on warm-up and stretching exercises. Then she taught  us some of the basic steps for about twenty minutes followed by by a water break. I had brought my own water so I wasn’t as desperate for water as the others. After that, more basic steps. and, finally, cool down and more stretching.

What I learned:

  • next week I need to wear a sports bra.
  • I am in better shape than I thought I was
  • but, I am still going to be sore tomorrow

Anyway, tomorrow I need to :

  • Go to the  school to read with Nick. This will be the last reading day this year. Next week we meet for a pizza lunch together.
  • Fill out a review questionnaire for the part of the year I have been a mentor.
  • Put out the box of plastic packing peanuts that are being picked up by a local Freecycle person.
  • Find a skirt to wear for the line-dancing class tomorrow night. It will be interesting to find out what kind of dancing this will be. It is advertised as line dancing but the blurb seems to explain it as folk dancing.
  • Find a rye-bread recipe .{I bought some rye flour when I went to the grocery store}
  • Make another loaf of white bread.
  • Make another large bowl of salad. I had the last serving at lunch.

Until later…

you have so much more energy than I do. And your bread machine looks a lot like mine, I should actually get mine out and use it again! 🙂

Golly, I wish our jazzercise instructor took time to explain the steps. I always look like I’m having an epileptic fit while I try to keep up with all these chicks who know what they’re doing, and where their feet are going.

RYN: You’re right, it was definately passive-agressive, and I called him on it just a few minutes ago. He admitted he was in the wrong, and I got him to admit he had stopped taking his antidepressants. The reason I couldn’t go was that I’m wired that way – someone tells me they need me, and I can’t walk away. Usually it serves me well, but not always. Thank you for your support – you’re

Wow, jazzercize and next, line dancing too. The line dancing is more complicated than I could ever deal with, or so it looks! I’m not surprised that you found out you’re in pretty good shape! Many people don’t get anyways near the physical activity that you do. hugs, Weesprite

yes, for that much energy you certainly could do with a sports bra. LOL hugs

Wish you were my next door neighbour, I’m sure I’d catch some of your motivation (Smile)

I’ve been reading your entries but haven’t left a note…just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading about you. You are so energetic, and into so many activities. Reminds me what life is really about. Thank you.

I think it’s so wonderful that members of the community reach out to area schools. I am an education major (finishing up my third year of school) and I work at a high school- what we need is more people like you in our schools! God Bless, n
