Eye Doctor Again

This morning I had an 8:30 appointment at the ophthalmologists. And, of course, the night before was one where I couldn’t go to sleep until around 2:30 am. It was not easy to get up this morning. But, all is well. The pressure in my eyes has gone down from 18 to 12. I told the doctor that I had been very conscientious about using the drops morning and night. He said he was quite aware of this because if I hadn’t, there wouldn’t have been the drop in pressure. It is interesting how I can be a little careless about my other medications–occasionally missing a dose, but for my eyes I am almost fanatical! I have even got up after I have settled down in bed to put drops in my eyes at night.

Anyway, I see him again in four months. When he looked at the right eye, the good one, he said there were signs that the cells were growing on that implant, too, but there was no need to do anything for a while since it wasn’t affecting my vision. And, of course, having had it done once, I am not a bit worried about having it done again. It isn’t invasive or painful and it works!

Right now, I am waiting for the dilation of my eyes to go back to normal. Everything is fuzzy and the weak winter sunlight outside seemed very bright as I came home. it is actually snowing in the sunshine with big fat flakes drifting down. We are having company later today. I still have a little tidying up to do but it shouldn’t take long. I did a really good cleanup of the bathroom yesterday so just basic tidying is needed there.

Much to my surprise, our landlord actually emptied the trash barrels so there is now somewhere to put the recycled paper we have been storing in the house. Fred had two bags stuffed full as do I so I will get those out today. The trash cans had gotten so full that I put my last bag of non-recyclables on top of the can since it wouldn’t fit inside. Perhaps that is why he finally got them done. When he first bought the house, he said that eventually he was going to pay a trash pickup business to come by and pick it up, but he didn’t want to do that until he was living there so he could make sure they containers get out on the street on the right days and times. Well, he now lives upstairs and he is still taking the trash to the dump himself but not often enough. Apart from that, though, he is a good landlord. We find we have to remind him occasionally about things he said he would do–an example is putting in a hand-held shower head for me after the surgery, but he eventually does get it done. Well, everything except the trash!

I suppose piled up trash isn’t the worst he could do, but it would drive me crazy! Happy to hear the eye pressure is down. That’s wonderful! Amazing what a couple of drops can do, isn’t it? Have a lovely afternoon. Wave at the snow for me! ~M

Very glad that the eye pressure is down.

I’m so happy that the pressure is dropping in your eyes. I don’t blame you for being fanatical about it. I would be, too!

That’s good news about the pressure in your eyes dropping. You’ve given me something to be grateful for. Our city takes care of garbage and recyclables pickups. I gather yours doesn’t? Of course our taxes reflect this but if we had to depend on the individual taking care of garbage I can imagine the mess.

I’ve noticed I can no longer see as closeup as I used to just 10 years ago. It’s a little alarming.

The dump probaby charges him by the load, so he waits as long as possible for that one. I’m surprised you don’t have regular trash pick-up. Ours comes around every Thursday, (Every other Thursday for recycleables.)

*huggs*

When it comes to my eyesight, I’m fanatical, too. The the thought of going blind some day scares me to death.

Of course you are fanatical about this! You are also an amazing artist…. so keep on keeping on! I am very happy to hear all is going well!

Very glad to hear of the improvement in your eyesight. That’s very good news. Rotten about the landlord and the trash. I would have been freaking out by that point.

So glad to hear that your pressure is coming down. That is GOOD news!! Hugs, M

Sorry to hear about your eyes. For the first time every I have to wear glasses now. To drive and read. We tried bifocals and that didn’t work and I got two free for two glasses bought, so I have two bi-focals (one regular, one sunglasses) and one for just reading and one just for distance and except for having to carry around 4 sets of glasses everything is okay. Thinking of getting the regular bifocals switched just to distance though. Hope everything goes well with you and Fred and tell the d*mn landlord to take the trash out more often. lol hugs r

good thing you don’t have bears roaming around or other wildlife, he’d be quick to get the trash out then 🙂
