Entry Two

  • Two entries in one day? And I haven’t had the slightest desire to take a nap so I must be feeling better! Doing as little as possible was the right thing to do today. ..
  • Actually, I did toss stuff for a beef stew into the crock pot so that the whole house smells good.
  • I am using Jake’s computer with Linux. I figured out this morning how to make the text bigger. It was a bit more involved than CTRL/+ but not much more. I also found a screen with all sorts of Linux games and goodies! Only the fact that this isn’t my computer stopped me setting up one or two…
  • I have actually been watching a bit of television today when I found the SyFy channel was running a Star Trek marathon. However, even Captain Picard hasn’t changed my opinion of television in general.
  • Cold Pizza Hut pizza is just as good for lunch as it was for breakfast.
  • I logged on to my bank account back in VT and was amused to see a debit for the money I spent on groceries here in NC. I know, I am easily amused, right?

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)

You are not happy because you are well. You are well because you are

happy. You are not depressed because trouble has come to you, but

trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change

your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to

correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working.

You’re sounding like your old self. Well, your younger old self. (HA HA HA)

You need to see if you can find a show called “Dark Matters: Twisted (something or the other…I can’t remember the full title). I just discovered it a few weeks ago and I’m hooked. It showcases three historical scientific ‘happenings’ of the past and gives a sort of ‘rest of the story.’ At 50 years of age, this is the first time in my life I’ve ever wished for a more formal education. I watch this show and think, “Wow. I never knew that!”

sounds like you are doing just fine. enjoy your stay. do you think you might move to north carolina? i would just to be in the mountains and have less snow to deal with in the winter. i know there’s more humidity there than there is in new england but less snow in the winter would be worth it to me. take care,

you seem relaxed. maybe this is the place for you.

The only pizza I actually like is PIzza Hut pizza…the colder the better! I read your last entry and thought about all the big furniture in Jake’s house. It made me chuckle. Enjoy your visit!

RYN: I see from your notes that you are friends with some of my favorite people. I am a Language Arts teacher for the upper school of a small private school.Oh, I bet you have tales to tell. I hope that I teach for a very long time at this school.I love it. The people there are family to me. No really, family. Anyway, thanks for dropping by. If you don’t mind I am going to peruse your halls.
