Day Three

Yesterday I was VERY pleased by what I managed to do on the treadmill. I remembered that when I started on the weightloss program years ago that I walked for a short time in the morning and again in the afternoon. This was a very successful strategy  so I decided that is probably what I should do with the treadmill. So, yesterday I walked at 2 miles an hour for 15 minutes in the morning and again for 15 minutes in the afternoon. Now two miles and hour isn’t fast but, hey, I start where I am and go forward from there.

The benign positional vertigo is still hanging around but has  mostly gone. I get a little surge of dizziness in the mornings when I am lying down and turn my head to the right to see the clock on that side of the bed. What really seems to help, odd though it may sound, is to drink lots and lots and lots of water! I have a 16 oz glass in the bathroom and one in the kitchen and almost every time I go to one of those places, I fill the glass up and chug the water  down!

A couple of days ago I got out all my shoes and gathered up those I had not worn for a long time. I was surprised at how many pairs there were. Anyway, I was going to just throw them out but most of them were in very good condition so I sent a trial email to Freecycle. As well as being used, they were big shoes. I wear a size 11 and there aren’t many women who take a size that big. Imagine my surprise when I got three emails almost immediately and a couple more later in the day. Anyway, they have been picked up.

The first person I offered them to gave me a day and a time and then didn’t turn up. I gave her an extra two days, heard nothing {and even sent her an email} and then offered them to the second person. She told me she couldn’t pick them up until three days hence which was fine with me. Right after that, Person One emailed me and said SHE could pick them up in three days also. I told her that since she had missed the scheduled pickup day and had not rescheduled, I had taken her as a no-show and gone on to the next person. She got rather annoyed at this but as far as I know, she has not complained to the moderator. I actually don’t care if she does because, hey, if you miss your pickup day and then don’t reschedule, as far as I am concerned, you ARE a no-show!

Today I am definitly going to do laundry. Right now as soon as I am finished here, I am going into the kitchen. There I will drink another glass of water, load the dishwasher and make coffee. Then I will see if I can do 15 minutes on the treadmill before starting laundry.

That’s a whole mile, which is not bad for starting out. And that person is definitely a no-show. I can’t imagine promising somebody something and then not following through.

RYN, I love that you’re so excited for me, getting my Kindle! Yes it’s the first thing I thought of this morning, I’m having it delivered to the office so I’ll probably have it fairly early this morning (but maybe not)…. it’s definitely making it a lot easier to get up and face a Monday! I’ll be sure to let you know what I think, but I already know I’m going to love it.

That first woman had no right to get uppity with you for letting another person have the shoes! What did she expect you to do….sit and wait on her to come get them forever? If you wanted to hang onto them forever, you’d’ve not offered them on Freecycle! :oO !! I hope you have a lovely day! hugs, Weesprite

I love the snippy comments you can get on freecycle – the stuff is FREE! I should walk as much as you do!

thanks for reminding me – I used to get dizzy when I felt dehydrated.

I love freecycle, I tend to give away more than I receive. But I always feel good about it…guess that counts too!

I love your attitude. Keep at it!

man…the freecycle lady must have had PMS.
