Day One
- Well, I didn’t find my camera which is really annoying because tomorrow Nick and I are going to visit my younger grandson and his wife whom I have never met. And also great grandchildren whom I also have never met! I am hoping that I can borrow my DIL’s camera. But, if not, there will be other times. I am able to travel now if I can find the money and I am pretty good at doing that for something I really want to do.
- This morning Nick needed to warm up his truck before he changed the oil so he took me on a short trip around the neighborhood which was interesting because it used to be my neighborhood too! In fact, we went to where I used to live but didn’t go up the drive . I had forgotten a lot of the area but there were things that suddenly seemed familiar.
- Nick picked me up in Jackson and and by the time we got home, I was so tired that I went to bed and had no trouble sleeping which is unusual for me since I have a lot of anxiety swirl around my brain when I go to bed. I do have a prescription for trazadone and I am finding that half a tab is really helpful. I don’t want to add any medications to what I have to take, but I am willing to take this for the next few months until I am moved and settled. This anxiety is situational and as soon as the situation changes, I will be fine.
- It is lovely to be in a place where sunshine means it is actually warm! MS in winter is really very pleasant.
- My DIL’s daughter has a Great Dane whose name is Kitty! Kitty is a gorgeous dog who barks at me because I am a stranger but she is very affectionate with people she knows.
- Time to get up, go outside and walk around a bit in the sunshine–the warm sunshine!
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.
Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) English Poet
Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
– Oscar Wilde
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}
