Day Off School

Time: 9:05 AM

Energy Level: Pretty good

Positives for the day:

  • chilly but there is sunshine

Physically I feel: OK

Mentally I feel: Glad today is not a school day for me.

We have company coming today so I need to make a list of what needs to be done:

  • clean floors
  • finish cleaning bathroom
  • tidy the coffee table
  • give the kitchen a good clean

Ok, all that is doable when I get off my rear and start doing! It is odd to see Fred up so early. I tease him that he is turning into a normal person instead of one who goes to bed at 3 am and gets up at noon!

I need to spend some time planning out not only when I am going to do this last homework push but how it will get done.  It is a bit annoying that the class I am giving has been postponed to next week. If I had done it on the first date I was given, I would have most of the five-page paper {in English} done by now. I have a couple of  Viva Voce* exercises to do and the upcoming  lesson with the fourth grade to plan in more detail. Actually, I still haven’t heard from their teacher so I still don’t know if I am doing numbers to 100 or telling time. One thing I will do when I have finished this entry is to go through in detail the game cards that la prof lent me  and plan how to use them in case telling time is the one the teacher wants me to do. If she doesn’t answer or leaves it to me, at the moment I am inclining towards the counting one since that is the one I have spent the most planning time on.

*I don’t think I have mentioned Viva Voce before. This is a series of interviews with native speakers. They are on CD so we can hear them and in a book so we can read them. There are questions at the end of each interview. The one we are studying right now is an interview with a 19 year old girl who is an art student in college. We read aloud and la prof asks us questions {in italian} We also translate what we have read which isn’t always easy. I have two exercises left to do for Tuesday.

Ok, I am off to sort out the time-telling cards and then to get the house at least superficially tidy. It actually isn’t really in bad shape and all that needs doing is surface stuff.

QUOTATION: If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it!

glad you don’t have to go to school today. blake was wishing that he didn’t have to go to school today. i think he got spoiled with having monday and tuesday off school cause of the flooding. enjoy your weekend company! take care,

Fred sounds like he is on our schedule. LOL BTW, where has he been? I haven’t seen an entry from him in a coons age. Bet you haven’t heard that one since you left Mississippi. LOL Enjoy your company but don’t work too hard getting ready for them. Chances are they won’t notice things as much as you do. Hugs, M
