Day Four
Just to put it on record–I am physically in pain. I have spent four hours at the damned hospital waiting to see the ophthalmologist, getting photographs of the peculiarities of my eyes with the tech pleading to let her tape my eyelids so the pictures will look good to the doctor who tends to blame the techs. I wouldn’t let her do it because last time, I DID agree and it HURTS to not be able to blink for what felt like 10 minutes! Anyway, there has been no improvement, which is what I expected but there has also been no deterioration which is nice to hear.
Last night, I went to bed early and woke at 3 am so at 4 am I was at MCDonald’s eating a sausage biscuit and drinking orange juice. When I came home I got a lot done. I was too busy to eat before I went to the eye doctor today so when I got out of the eye doctor’s I hadn’t eaten for 11 hours. I again went to McD’s and had one of their salads and more orange juice. I Intended to do more of the last-stuff-to-be-done but my back is hurting too badly so I am going to take naproxyn and lie down for a while. The movers arrive at 9 am tomorrow so I need to get the last sorting done but until my back feels a bit better it is no use trying. So, off to lie on the bed and help my back. Then I will do what has to be done…
Sleep? Who needs it!
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
– Oscar Wilde
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}
Wow, don’t overdue it and take care of yourself!

Be careful, please. I’d hate to think of anything bad happening to you right now (indeed, at any time at all!)

Just four more days…four more days….. Tell Jake to make sure the bed is set up with sheets and pillows and blankets so that the first thing you can do when you get there is lay down and SLEEP!

I hope you were able to get the rest you need and that the naproxin worked to help with your back pain. Please take care to not overdo it, okay?
Warning Comment
oh gosh! I feel for ya. Please try your best to not overdo it, but I know that right now that’s a lot easier said than done. I like one of your noters’ idea about asking Jake to have the bed made up so that the first thing you can do when you get there is lie down and take just as long a nap as you need!!!! how awful to be hurting and have all that stuff to do. i can’t imagine waiting 4 hours in the hospital for pictures of your eye. why did they make you wait so long? prayers your back stopped hurting quickly. soon it will be over and you can rest and take your time making that apartment your home. take care,

Take it slow, no sense in hurting yourself. Everything will get done. They tape your eyes shut? That sounds like a form of torture!
