Day 1 W/EDIT

EDIT: End of day 1. I got quite a lot of things done today although it doesn’t look any better! Diane came to go to lunch with me so since I was craving a Subway sandwich, we went there and brought the subs back here and we had them with tea. We then spent three hours chatting away and had a lovely time although no cleaning got done!

Martha from next door came over with my mail and I reduced it to three pieces I have to do something about, but, again, that will be tomorrow. Tomorrow also Ernie and Diane will be here with a truck and I have got two pieces of furniture that have to go. They are in reasonably good condition and I am going to suggest he takes them to the recycling/repairing place that used to be called Recycle North. {They have changed their name but I still think of them by their old name.} They accept donations, repair them and sell them at a reasonable price to college students and others who can use them. I must also get together the books I want to donate, and since Fred and I combined our cooking stuff, some of that can go too.

Something I did do was to break down about half the boxes I was saving to pack my own stuff. Actually, these are not a priority since I can put them out when all the furniture has been picked up on Wednesday and Thursday. I am staying Friday to do things like that, and as much cleaning as I can do without putting myself in agony since I will be flying back to NC that day. Also first thing tomorrow, I must go pick up that refill of the prescription drops that go in my eyes!

It is all going to get done eventually…

  • I slept 8 hours and feel much better.
  • I am going to get dressed and then off to get some breakfast and then to buy some food since there is none in the house except frozen stuff.
  • After that I will start on getting rid of other stuff. "Stuff" is a good word that covers everything.
  • Got to stop at the drug store and get a refill on my prescription eye drops since I either left them in NC or lost them along the way…

Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

– Oscar Wilde

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}

And so it begins! I wish I could be there to actually help and not just sit here on the sidelines cheering!

I love getting rid of stuff. It makes me feel good, and makes my place seem less cluttered:)

You’re right. Stuff is a good word for almost everything you don’t have a name for. LOL Hugs, M

I’m one that really loves getting rid of stuff too! It makes my mood change & I just feel better overall.

Getting rid of frozen stuff can be good for making a pot of soup. I did that the other day. After the first bowl there aren’t many takers but I love it. I’m glad that you are sleeping better.

Hurrah for getting things done — and, yes, for chatting away and NOT getting things done.

Moving is so tiring but I always loved the excitement of a new place in a new area.

Now I want subway. LOL

I agree with Starting Over up there. I wish I could help you is some way. You are a shining example for all of us. Our day will come when we must make changes in our lives. You have stood tall and brave. I hope I can do half as well as you have when my time comes.
