Catch Up

I haven’t written since last THURSDAY? Ooops!

Well, let’s see. I had a massage yesterday which was the only time I got out of the house in the last two weeks. I really DO need an outside event to get me out. Having said that, my next outside event is the book club meeting tomorrow at the library from 7 pm to 8 pm and I am seriously considering not going! The thing in, it has been snowing all day. And it gets dark at around 4 pm. I can drive in the dark these days but I am not really enthusiastic about driving in snow and in the dark. So, I guess the decision will be made tomorrow. Oh, and the Tracy Kidder book is Mountains and Mountains. It is a shortish paperback and I have read about a third.

Ok, a couple of loads of laundry have been done over the last few days—washed, dried and put away. Today I cleaned up the piles of stuff on the floor by my bed. There is a bag of non-recyclable stuff to go out and a paper bag of recyclables to go with it. What I haven’t done is to clean out the dead plants from the balcony boxes outside, and now the soil is frozen. I think I am just going to stack them up in a corner and leave them over the winter. I really feel bad about not having the bird feeders out by now.

On a more positive note, thanks to Amazon wish lists, I have all my presents bought and mailed. Well, actually, the only ones who have Amazon wish lists are my younger son and his partner. For my older son and his wife, I sent stuff from Amazon that I am pretty sure they will like. P. is easy to buy for because if it is frog-related, she likes it! Her husband, my older son, gets a gift good for a man! LOL. I think he will like it. I have Fred’s present arrive to day. I will open it to check it out and then rewrap it and put it under the tree. Again, it is guessing since, as far as I know, he has no Amazon wish list. But I am pretty sure he will like it. Oh, and the tree is looking very nice. Fred put the last dozen red and silver balls on it . I must take a picture.

Tomorrow:

  • Decide if I am going to the meeting or not.
  • Get the piled-up "stuff " off the floor and desk in my workroom.
  • clean the floor in there

QUOTATIONS:

"Step by step. I can’t think of any other way of accomplishing anything."

Do you have any public transportation there? Any friends that will ride share in the winter? It might help with getting out in the winter, also with maybe eating out before the meeting. Socializing beforehand might be a good thing. have fun…dan

You’re very well organised. 🙂 I’m still way behind on present buying.

I don’t think you ever did talk about the book discussion on “The Secret.” Unless I missed an entry. How did that go? You’ve gotten me hooked on the Amazon wish list. The only trouble is, I don’t have enough people to buy me all the things I want! 😀 I found a place called Kaboodle where you can make a wish list from any site on the internet. The trouble is, you have to sign up to be on their junk mail list and install a special toolbar on your browser, so I haven’t done it yet. I hate that extra junky stuff.

Here’s a thought. Call someone and see if they can transport you to the meeting.

Post a picture of the tree. Diane wants to see it!

We finished our Christmas shopping tonight. Well, not for each other. Oops. LOL AND , I still have 3 to make. O.k., guess I’m not doing as well with it as I thought. L Hugs, M
