Car and Clocks
I was supposed to go for a massage today and, guess what, my car wouldn’t start. {This happened to Beth on the last scheduled day!} Anyway, I called her and we rescheduled for next Sunday. Every time I call AAA, I remember my sister telling me to sign up because, she said, it was worth every penny they charged! Anyway, a man in a van came out and found my battery was dead. He recharged it and he and I together were trying to decide why it was dead. I left a message at the usual mechanic I go to and I hope I can get a slot on Monday. The AAA person also suggested that I get the alternator checked. I hope it is not that because from what I have heard, replacing that is an expensive job…
Well, this morning I found that all my three computers and reset the time properly but that *I* had reset my watch incorrectly before I went to bed! For some weird reason, although I was quite aware it was "fall back" I put it forward an hour. I haven’t changed all the devices in the kitchen that have timers but I can do those while I am fixing supper which is left-over stew from yesterday. { I find it difficult to fix a small amount of either stew or chili. } The clock that Fred always used to do is the Audubon bird-calls clock because it has to be reset in a certain way so that the right bird sings at the right hour. The instructions are on the back so I will tackle it tomorrow.
Very slowly, I seem to be getting better in both my body and in my mind…
Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)
“As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better.” -Steve Maraboli
Glad to hear, you will begin to heel but Fred will always be a part of you.

That sounds like something that I would do.

That reminds me, I need to change the clock in the kitchen… and the car. Other than that I think everything changed itself or I have already changed.

I forgot to change the clocks. Thank goodness my computer changes itself and reminds me.

How long has it been since you replaced your battery? They’re only good for about 5 years, even the long-life ones aren’t good for much longer than that, especially if you don’t park your car in a garage and you have extreme hot and cold weather. If it had a warranty, you might could get a pro-rated credit toward a new one, though!

raven used to have one of those bird clocks when she was little. I wonder what happened to it. It was cool.

I just got a new alternator–about $500. Yuck.

Big hugs. AAA has been a godsend at times, especially in the winter.

Well very slowly is the very best way to do it because it usually lasts!

I have AAA and the first time I pull a dumb stunt and use it after the renewal, I think to myself, well that is paid for! I leave my lights on inside my car and forget to turn them off. Not long ago my battery cables weren’t on good. Just one use of it pays for it. Oh I have locked myself out of my car too, b/c of course my extra key is in my purse!

i do hope it’s not your alternator. do you like that bird clock? i would think that the bird sounds would make me crazy or do you just get to where you don’t hear them anymore? take care,
