Bulleted List Entry
- It is cool and overcast here today. I am going to make a real effort to get out for a walk after I have finished this,. Mondays are sometimes difficult walk-wise because it is the only day I have access to the washing machine and dryer and I feel as if I have to do it weekly. As I write this, I notice how silly this is. We have another set of sheets and more towels and I have lots and lots of underwear…
- So, do I really NEED an iPod Shuffle or do I just want one. {No need to comment on this; I know the answer! }
- I have done one load of clothes and put them in the dryer. Another load is washing and there is one more — towels and sheets,– after that.
- The loaf of white bread I made yesterday was eaten up so there is another one in the machine right now.
- When I am out walking or when I am having a massage, I can think of all sorts of interesting subjects I want to write about. When I am actually here in front of the keyboard, I am reduced to bulleted lists of random subjects.
- In American English spelling, the rule for doubling the final consonant of a two-syllable word when adding a suffix is no, if the accent falls on the first syllable and yes if it falls on the second syllable. Thus differ becomes differed and repel becomes repelled. I still have trouble with this one and had to think about the rule as I was spelling bulleted.
- This week I go to the doctor on Wednesday, read at the school with Nick on Thursday, tutor Robin on Friday and back to art class on Saturday.
- I am going to the doctor for my six-monthly checkup. He will want {yet again} to put me on medication for my blood pressure. {It hovers around 140/75} This is lower than it was when I was 50 pounds heavier but not as low as the doctors think it should be. I am anti pilltaking unless it is a life-or-death matter, but as Fred pointed out to me, high blood pressure actually is a life-or-death matter. I will talk to the doctor about this and ask about the risk factors. {I have a mental list of things I want to discuss. By Wednesday, it will be a written list.}
- I am waiting for the bread machine to get through the first rise and go to the punch down. Then I will open it up, reach in and move the dough and remove the paddle. This makes it easier to get the bread out of the pan when it has finished and there is only a tiny hole in the bottom of the bread.
- This just happened. I removed the paddle.
- My copy of Pegasus Mail went into a total lockup a few days ago. Finally, I had to uninstall it and get a clean copy. This was no problem {although I lost all my saved mail and the address book} but the really annoying thing is that when I configured it, I must have done something incorrectly because although I can receive mail, I can’t send it out.! I know what I need to do but the really REALLY exasperating thing is that I can’t find the place where I need to change the setting! I thought it was in options but it isn’t! Oh well, I can always do Verizon netmail on line until I sort it out and, eventually, I will.
Until later…
If ever I knew about that spelling rule, I had forgotten it. I will probably forget about it again, and depend on my memory for each word. No really, I will try to remember that one. About the Ipod shuffle, I have been considering it as a graduation gift for Mark. I haven’t looked into prices, so it isn’t definate. I also haven’t compared the regular Ipod and the Shuffle. Anyway, I would say…

Of subject – I wonder why the font changes when writing a note. I didn’t do anything to make that happen.

When I get to where you are, I hope I am as active and together and as cool and as smart as you. You are a role model, even if you don’t realize it. Thank you.

That’s really rotten about the mail. Always hate it when a file gets corrupted and all the data goes away.

If you BP is around 140/75 RESTING it is ok. They should go by the lower number which is 80 for normal. And Rich had that stupid (I’m kidding) shuffle thing on all weekend listening to these podcasts and stuff. He loves it because its so portable.

Do you have any device whereby you could maybe record subjects to write about as you think of them when you’re walking? Like a mobile phone text or memo facility on something?

I am always trying to figure out when to double the letter. Now if I can remember the rule I’ll have it made. Used to be good at spelling but seem to be losing it, oops, I mean losing the ability to spell. haha.

Hubby has been walking around here for a week with white wires coming out of his ears. He loves his little Shuffle.

In freshman year of high school I had to memorize all of the grammar rules, word for word. It really didn’t help at all. =) Yay for beautiful spring weather!

OH! Thank you for posting that doubling the last letter rule. I never knew that! In fact, I was quite often ALWAYS doubling the last letter, until I realized that sometimes the word looked funny! This is a great thing to know, and I can’t believe I never knew it! ~ Carrie
