Before Bed Time
I got back from my massage just in time to sit in my new chair. While I was gone, Fred had finished putting it together for me. It is really nice with a nice big padded seat and a really excellent back support. The padded arms are adjustable so I am going to keep them like this for a few days to see what I want adjusting. I love it!
Tomorrow I need to wash clothes and I need — I REALLY need — to go for a walk. It has been so hot and sticky, I didn’t go at all today but if I go out early tomorrow while the first load is washing, I should be able to get at least one walk done before the humidity gets too hot to bear. I will be SO glad when this heat breaks —on Wednesday the forecasters are now saying.
Since I have to draw a sketch for a landscape to be done in class on Tuesday, I am thinking I could walk over to a little local park with my camera and take some pictures to use as a basis for my sketch. I am also considering taking another drawing class when the new college year starts. I am enjoying learning new skills and relearning old ones. I am very motivated to go on with this. I get a mid term grade on Tuesday, too. I am not SERIOUSLY worried but if I don’t make an A, I will be disappointed. Of course, if it is an A-, I will not lose my motivation!
It is a bit early to be thinking about my trip to England since I am not leaving until Bastille Day, but one thing I need to get done early is to get some pounds sterling from my local bank. I like to give them plenty of notice since they are just a little branch in a grocery store! They have done this for me before but it usually takes a week to ten days for them to get what I ask them for. I usually try to get one particular teller since she knows what to do. Last time when I said what I wanted, the young man turned to another teller and said, "Can we do that?" I assured them that, yes, they certainly could!
Tomorrow:
- laundry
- walk
- start cleaning up the balcony and washing the chairs out there. I am very late this year. I usually try to have the chairs washed and the flower boxes filled by the end of May!
Until later..

I’ve been doing my running after nine because of the heat. I don’t know exactly where you are, but in New York, it’s more bearable then. :0)

It’s been an odd spring, not much of it and then blazing hot. I think that’s why I don’t have flowers planted in my patio pots yet, either. The tables and chairs have been washed but not by me.:)

It is simply miserable down here today — very hot, dark and sticky. At least the damn tornado siren didn’t go off.

I am so glad you left me a note. so I could follow the trail here. I read about how you and Fred met. PenPals..it’s exactly what I think of when I think of internet romances. is emailing any different than long letters that penpals would exchange? question for you..and I’m sure if I read more, I’d know this, but how old were you when you divorced?

strike that….how old were your children? I am looking forward to finding a stable fulltime job. my children don’t need me as much. But I worry that I will miss out on some of those things that I am grateful now that my mother did for me. (classroom mom, always there to carpool me to band, friends home, brownies) I want to be the taxi mom, too.

Would you mind if I added you to my favorites?

So glad you got your chair together so soon. Glad for you and glad that Fred’s feeling so well. Also glad it wasn’t a six month job.

It was extremely humid today. YUK!!! How is your sister? I always enjoyed taking a drawing course even though I wasn’t very good at it.

Bastille Day? I haven’t heard Bastille Day in years and years. I am not even sure I know what is stands for anymore. lol Glad you are going to England.

RYN: That’s good – Bristol airport is far less overwhelming than Heathrow or Gatwick in London! And much more pleasant to drive to/around 🙂 I hope you have a great time with your sister.

Eryssa, you should check out where the best rates are for buying GBP: it may be better to take USD to England and change them there. It’s a question of shopping around.

Sorry Patrisha, I called you Eryssa by mistake: slip of the fingers etc.!

Cheers for Fred getting your new chair put together. 🙂

RYN: I think if connectiveness isn’t a word, it should be. So, hooray. It is now. 🙂

Sometimes you can get money exchanges thru your travel agency too. I know here that is what we tell the people to do when I worked in a bank. It was just so much easier and quicker and they had it right there.
