Bah

So, this afternoon, I walked up to the drug store to get Fred’s medication, a notebook with pages that tear out neatly for my Italian homework and some chocolate-covered raisins.

Then I spent the rest of the day reading and and eating the whole packet of chocolate-covered raisins. Nine-hundred and thirty-five calories. You want that in Italian? Novecentotrentacinque!

This was followed this evening by a not-small helping of Fred’s spagetti and meatballs…

Fortunately, thanks to home made yougurt daily, my intestines are working well and I feel distinctly better after a visit to the bathroom.

But this has to stop… I didn’t need to keep mindlessly putting that candy into my mouth this afternoon.

It is a good job that one gets a fresh start every morning.

Until later….

Yikes! I didn’t realize those chocolate covered raisins packed quite that huge of a punch.

Yes, you’re right! I love chocolate raisins, too! I make my own packets in those little snack sized baggies and put an actual serving size in them, so I’m not as tempted to eat more than what I want to. Your brain doesn’t usually register its actual fullness for awhile and by then, it’s too late!!!

wow!! I’d never have guessed that chocolate-covered raisins have that many calories! My candy of choice is Reese Cups; next time I get some I will look and see how many calories they have! (and then eat them anyway….) hugs, Weesprite

Those evil raisins!

Randomly came across your entry, and just thought I’d say what a big fan I am of chocolate covered raisins too! haha. =)

wow i did that with some sugary stuff this weekend. i am SO bad when it comes to sugar sometimes lol.

It is AMAZING the calories, fats and sugars in foods when you start looking at the labels!

I’m glad for once that I don’t like raisins! I make up for it with other high calorie things though 🙂

I have SUCH a sweet tooth!! I read somewhere that people with fibromyalgia are actually lacking in some vitamin or mineral that makes them crave sweets. Don’t know how true that is but darn, it’s a good excuse. LOL Hugs, M

wow! I have given up my weekly habitual scone because when I checked the calories I could not believe it! and decided it’s not worth it. some things are, some aren’t. sounds like this definitely wasn’t, for you. a handful, maybe. a whole package, nope.

Oh my, I know how it is with candy…I have such a weakness there. Today was the first day in weeks and weeks that I didn’t have even one piece of candy. I’m going to try to keep it out of my hands and mouth for at least the next three weeks to see how much weight I can lose! Probably 10 lbs or so because I probably normally eat up to 500 calories a day or so of candy! It’s amazing I’m only about 20 lbs heavier than I should be!!!

Goodness. But don’t beat yourself up too severely, every now and then we need to indulge, and simply enjoy without thrashing ourselves later. I hardly ever read about you going overboard, either, so it can’t be too bad, can it?

RYN: Hmmm, my cats must do the downward dog pose too, but I don’t know that I’ve seen it – the dog? She does it all the time! P.S. I’m sore after that 50-min. yoga workout yesterday. Guess that’s the one I should be doing, since the other DVDs don’t make me sore anymore.

Mmmm, chocolate covered raisins are delicious. Just about anything chocolate is yummy. I’m glad you got that out of your system. LOL Seriously, G bought five chocolate bars yesterday and so far I have resisted eating any.

🙂 {{{HUGS}}}!!

This is why I try to stay away from candy altogether! I can NEVER just eat one or two. It’s all hog or none! Yes, it’s a good thing that tomorrow is a fresh, new day!

Back in the Weight Watcher days, I used to just open a can of green beans and munch on them cold… It was as much giving myself something to DO as anything. I understand what you mean about the candy. I’d be the same with M&M’s. Love to you! ~M

Hopefully, this binge is out of your system (in more ways than one!) and you can get control of your eating. It sometimes seems like such a hopeless battle. And, binging makes one feel bad emotionally which just causes more eating. Tomorrow I am starting on an exchange syatem for 1-2 weeks. I always lose that way…I just can’t keep it up.

Hi! I saw your note on The Kid’s diary and though I’d stop by… I was a teacher for a few years, and I also used to speak to my students (7th graders) as if they were adults. I even addressed them as “sir” and “ma’am”, which people always thought odd, but it worked. I still do that even now with my son’s friends… seems even MORE odd to do that with 4 year olds, but they really respond to it! 🙂

good heavens!! i had no idea that chocolate covered raisins were so calorie laden. that’s a lot! but, i can’t eat them. chocolate hurts my stomach. don’t beat yourself up about it. just start all over again on a new day. take care,

Shi

Ouch, that’s a lot of calories. And yes, it’s a good thing we get a fresh start every day.
