Babble
- This morning I got email from my dentist to remind me I have an appointment next week and there was a "confirm" button. I was most impressed! It has only taken him ten years to use email!
- I had my hair cut this morning. The stylist I prefer, Sheila, was doing a perm so I decided not to wait for her. Emily did an OK job but not as good as Sheila does. Emily cut the back and bangs straight across instead of feathered. I am so used to not having to tell Sheila what I want that I didn’t tell Emily! Oh, well, it doesn’t look too bad and it will grow out. What I should have done was go into the back area and ask Sheila how long she would be…
- I find myself thinking that Sheila is a name one doesn’t often hear these days.
- I just realized that I didn’t have my morning cup of coffee when I got Fred’s. {Short pause to get coffee.} I was very nervous that my stomach was going to reject coffee when I had the first one since the gastritis but I am tolerating one cup a day very well. The rest of the day I either drink water or tea.
- This week I am going to K.’s house for art on Wednesday instead of Thursday. We are going to spend some of the time going to a gallery showing fabric art. Then in the second hour, I plan to work on a pair of sandals for a book group friend. They are white leather and I haven’t worked on leather before. I asked her if she had any preferences in color and she said not. This means she will have my colors-of-choice which are red, orange, purple and gold and possibly a touch of turquoise and black! I am thinking stripes and spots.
- I am loving the weather these days. But I believe that we are forecast for cold weather by the end of the week.
"We don’t just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary." – Booker T. Washington.
"We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers – but never blame yourself. It’s never your fault. But it’s always your fault, because if you wanted to change you’re the one who has got to change." — Katherine Hepburn
The plan for the sandals sounds wonderful. Have fun working/playing on them.

Will you show us a photo of the sandals when you are done with them please? :o) !! I think I’ve only known one Sheila in my life, a co-worker when I worked at the schools. Lots of Shirleys but only one Sheila! It’s supposed to be highs in the SIXTIES here by next weekend….I can’t wait! :o) !! hugs, Nicky

In the cutting horse industry, there are quite a few Australian horse trainers and owners. I hear “sheila” quite frequently, but not as a name–it’s their slang for girl or woman. LOL

That email confirmation is a great idea. I wish our dentist and doctors would start doing that. We get so tired of phone calls. Some of the charities send lots of regular mail requests….when we don’t donate they start calling at all hours of the day!

I’ve only known one Sheila, I think. She had some stupid knickname for me in high school, so I called her “Skiggy.” I don’t remember why. Years later when I ran into her, I called her Skiggy because I couldn’t remember her real name! LOL!

There are a lot of women called Sheila in my age group, but not many young ones! Emily is very popular here for children though!

One secretary at our dental office is using email for appointments. I LOVE it. Trying to phone when you are teaching is a nightmare.
