Another Entry

  • Jake turned up trumps and took me to Target where I bought some groceries and he picked out a red-and-white striped {Peppermints! We are both addicts!} shower curtain. I am mildly cheered by looking forward to tomorrow when I can have a shower where the water stays where it is supposed to be! Now I need a red floor mat for the bathroom. I have also found a small set of white shelves to put things on. I will move it into the bathroom tomorrow. One slightly annoying thing is that the toilet paper in this bathroom is on the left and I am right-handed…
  • I found a box marked "Towels" in the bathroom and so I now not only can have a shower where the water stays in the tub but I have more than one towel! Actually, before I opened the towel box, I had only one towel I had borrowed from Jake… I also found the soap in that box, too, which was one less thing to buy since the one bar I was using was getting very thin!
  • I called the nearest Rite Aid drug store and was told that they use a country-wide data base so all I had to do was come in and ask for my eye drops. Actually, I will need my car since they don’t deliver. The one up the road from where I lived in VT did deliver which was great during bad weather.
  • Once I get my car, {are you noticing a pattern here?} I need to find a doctor locally. I have started looking on line and find that there is a useful online site  which not only tells you where the doctors are located but their name, specialty, where they got their training, and their  age. I like to know the age because I prefer a younger doctor but not one so young that I know more than he or she does!
  • I have most of the kitchen boxes emptied but there is still a lot of "stuff" lying around waiting to be assigned a home. I opened two boxes in the bathroom this morning but there are still two more. Actually, one is marked "cleaning supplies" so how that got in the bathroom I have no idea.There is actually quite a lot of storage space in the laundry room so I will put those in there..
  • Hope I hear about my car tomorrow…

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone. ~Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers}

It sounds like you are settling in nicely!!!

Weird bout the car, but the good news is, if it was destroyed on the freeway during the bad weather, the insurance will buy you a new one! LOL!

Yes, you are definitely making progress. Moving for us was a breeze as with the house burning there was nothing to move. 😛 I have to laugh or I would have gone crazy! So glad you finally found those pillows! Now if you could just find those pillow cases! Hugs,M

i hope you get your car soon. it’s not easy to be without one. none of the drug stores around here deliver. hope you find the perfect doctor for you soon. i LOVE the idea of red in the bathroom instead of ordinary dull colors most people use. i use white but everything else, walls, floor, ceiling, are all different shades of blue. i really hate my bathroom. take care,

Good luck settling in. I’m sure it’s not easy. Once you’re settled then you can go out to explore you new surroundings.

Sounds like your place is coming along nicely! Where in the world is your car?!?

I’ve always hated doctor searching! You never really know where to go or who to see, especially when it is in a new area. I would also advise checking out hospitals near you & they usually have the “find a physician link” and that way you can check out the hospital & their ratings & survey results, as well as patient satisfaction, and then if you ever should need it, you would know that the doctoryou would like to see is apart of that hospital. Now, time for your car to make its way to you! And it is worth it to see if there are any local pharmacies that do deliver, as that is often a nice little treat.

Very annoying about the car. Can’t they tell you where it is at least? Glad to hear that Jake came through.

Sounds like progress is being made every day. Hope your car shows up soon.
