And Today…
This morning the repair person came to look at the dishwasher. We spent some considerable time in the basement looking for the water cut-off. I knew where there was one to cut off the outside water faucet to prevent burst pipes outside in the Vermont winter but I had no idea where any other cut-off was. All I know is that there isn’t one under the sink which to me would be the logical place to put one.
Anyway, the bottom line is that Bryce, the landlord, has to find a way to cut off the water before Bruce the repair man comes back with the valve he had to order! So, of course, that means a couple more days emptying out the pan under the leak and putting towels down to catch the overflow during the night because neither of us is getting up during the night to empty the pan! About all I did today was to wash the towels I have been using to soak up the spilled water in the kitchen.
Bryce came knocking on the door this evening with two big tomatoes that had fallen into the grass off my tomato-in-a-pot, Fred said that we are probably going to have rain and wind tonight so I went out to put the umbrella down and take the smaller plant pots down from the edge of the deck. I expect I will be picking up more tomatoes tomorrow!
Last week I went through my Windows computer programs disks and manuals and offered them on Freecycle. They were picked up this morning.
Tomorrow is the book club meeting. I still haven’t finished the book. I really can’t get into it, but I will try again tomorrow.

He may have to cut it off at the water meter. It would be a good time to install a cutoff valve for your apartment though…

That’s weird that there’s no shut-off under the sink. I would imagine that building codes would require it; they do around here.
Warning Comment
Yeah, cut off valves one would think would be on everything, but alas, they aren’t, even in newer houses.

That is a pain! Eventually, I would like to grow some things in the summer.

Good luck with your water problems. I still can’t decide if I should spend the money on the KIndle. Has it influenced your reading of “real” books?

Yikes. Crazy Arrangement!

My water shut off to the outside of the house was painted shut by the previous owners…what a nightmare!

i thought there was always a cut off under the sink. how odd! hope you get the dishwasher fixed soon. it’s got to be a pain to empty the pot several times a day. how do you plan on eating the tomatoes? as a sandwich by themselves or part of a meat and lettuce sandwich? take care,

What a faff! Does Bryce not know where the water cut-off is? He should if he’s the landlord!
Warning Comment
That’s annoying about the dishwasher. I hope that it can be repaired quickly.

Sorry to hear about the water problem. I hate it when those things happen. They do damage and also cause lots of worry.
