And So Far…
I have my speech all done and on cards. A bit later I will get Fred to listen to it and time me again but I am not really worried about the length of it. There are a couple of words I stumble over that I need to rehearse more but, basically, it is done and I am ready.
I went up to the travel agent to get my ticket sorted out and forgot my folder so I had to come home. But since I live just down the road, that wasn’t a big problem. I decided to go ahead and get full medical coverage as well as lost luggage, canceled flights etc., you know, all the usual stuff. The price was more than she had told me over the phone but she apologised because she had given me the 30 days or less quote and I am going to be there 42 days. So, I wrote a check for the tickets and gave her my debit card for the insurance and came home. Only then did I realize that I had totally forgotten to tell her I wanted aisle seats. I really detest having to climb over people to get to the bathroom and since I have long legs, I am much more comfortable sitting on the aisle where I stick my feet out to trip every one. She went ahead and did that for me on the domestic flights but she said she would have to call Air Italia because normally they assign seats but, she said, they would take requests over the phone. She also apologized that she didn’t ask me. Well, it would have been nice if she had, but basically I feel it is my responsibility to let her know where I want to sit. Anyway, she said she will send me email when all this is done.
My new resolution is to stop spending money!

Me too. I always ask for an aisle seat.

I hope you get your aisle seats on all the flights! I hate having the window seat too. And I hope you have a lovely rest-of-the-day! hugs, Weesprite

LOL! I go through phases where I spend money like water, and then I trim back for a while. Funny how that goes. ryn: I’m definitely re-thinking a pc upgrade, at least until the Vista bugs are worked out. I’m hearing more and more about programs that don’t work with Vista. Can’t have that!!!

I’m definitely a “window” girl… I like to watch what’s going on out there!

I hope you get very comfortable seats all the way to Italy! Stop spending money — that would be hard for me. The internet is such a temptation!
