A Very Short Update

  • I really LOVE my SAD light. It doesn’t affect me the way REAL sunshine does* but there is no doubt that I am feeling so much more like myself. For example, I am doing art stuff for myself with no class to motivate me. * I opened the inner door in the kitchen this morning and stood in the sunshine pouring into the kitchen and felt amazingly uplifted.
  • Today is a grocery buying day. There were no bagels for my breakfast this morning!

I am grateful for:

  1. real sunshine
  2. my SAD light
  3. signs that winter is almost over
  4. the sunshine has melted away almost all the snow piled up on my car
  5. how much better physically and mentally I am feeling
  6. Facebook when my past students get in touch with me!
  7. the hot chocolate I am going to drink when I am finished here.

I think it is wonderful, how well the light works! :o) !! I like knowing that you are feeling chipper again! hugs, Nicky

Eek, no bagels! How are you fixed for marmite? There are certain foods I like to keep stocked up on, also. Yoghurt for example.

I wonder if half my problem now is because of the lack of sunlight we’ve had. We’ve had SO many storms this month. Today is sunny, but those days seem few and far between. I love that you are feeling better. Think I’ll check into a SAD light. I know what it stands for, but seems like HAPPY light would be a better name. LOL!

Hot chocolate always makes me think of Chrismas… We’d go caroling and afterwards, have creamy, sweet, hot cocoa with a candy cane stuck in it……..

I took a break from my usual oatmeal this morning and had an English muffin….with peanut butter on both halves plus apricot preserves on one. Tasted so good I could have eaten another one!

All the sunshine we got while vacationing in Maui, truly did uplift us, as we were outside all day every day. The most obvious difference was that we got more sleep. We were in bed by 9 pm each night, tired after so much fresh air and sunshine. A SAD light is a great idea if you can’t get out much all winter.
