A Summary

At 3 am I was up HAVING A SHOWER!

At 6 am, I took my nice-smelling self back to bed. At 8:20 I was woken by a phone call saying the visiting nurse was coming to take blood around 10-ish.

Unfortunately, it was E., the nurse who after three tries last time couldn’t get blood. After three tries THIS TIME, she was equally unsuccessful. And the last time really hurt. A few minutes ago a different nurse came in and got the blood immediately the first time.

We have just had a nasty-sounding thunderstorm. I will take myself outside for a walk a bit later on this afternoon.

I hope everyone noticed I GOT A REAL SHOWER this morning! And Fred just presented me with a couple of books he had ordered for me…

Happiness is small things…

I bet that shower felt GLORIOUS! You should call and request that the nurse who can’t seem to get your blood is replaced with a different one. Awww, Fred’s such a sweetheart!! Hugs, M

RYN: I can’t tell you how much your note meant to me!

Were you SINGING in the shower?? I hope so! Although I can’t imagine getting in the shower at 3:00 a.m. But it was just like I said…a kid at Christmas! You just COULDN’T wait, could you??? *wink!*

It is such a pleasure to be free to take a shower ANYtime one wants to…. even at three a.m.! :o) !! It sounds like the “E” nurse needs to go back to blood-drawing school! :oO !! And please, can you send some thunderstorms our way? It is so dry here; we need some rain! hugs, Weesprite

All by yourself you took a shower?? Before they could show you? I would do the same thing, a shower always makes me feel so much better. Congrats. Fred is so good to you.

I thought that was the dew on the ground that smelled so fresh, and her it was you. Thanks!!! happy that this is progressing so well for you and Fred. have fun…dan

I agree that the shower must have felt so darn good, and glad you got the other nurse there to get your blood. *huggs* new books are a plus and a half!!!

A shower and new books is some kind of Heaven. Good-0!

I’d hide if E came back. I’m a needle phobe.

Glas you finally got a shower. Some nurses can never take blood but other times the veins are just small.

raymond loved his showers on friday after he was unhooked from chemo so i can imagine how wonderful your’s must have been. they are saying we could have storms again today like the ones from yesterday. i’m keeping an eye on the sky today. and i’m carrying my umbrella with me! take care,

congrads on the shower. i read how badly you wanted a “real” shower. And i agree. Happiness is the small things. So why do we always go after bigger, better ,and newer? I don’t know. Loved the photograph of the sailboat.

Very good. You did it!

Definitely ask for a nurse who can do a good stick. So what wonderful books are you reading?

ryn: That is a wonderful happening with your son and her. I hope that you enjoyed the shower. It sounds like you did. You are making improvment each and every day! You should be so proud of yourself. Blessings.

The same nurse/doctor isn’t allowed to take blood more than twice in one day here. It’s against the law. A new person has to be called to do it if it fails twice.
