A Strange Night and Day

It has been a strange day. Last night for me was one of those nights where I just couldn’t get my brain to shut down. There was nothing in particular I was worrying about. In fact I really couldn’t say I was worrying at all, but my brain just wouldn’t shut up.  Fred came to bed around 2 am which is about his usual time and there I was, still reading.

I got up and and had something to eat but that didn’t seem to work at all. Eventually I fell asleep around 4:15 a.m. I woke up at 8:30 which was about an hour later than I usually wake up but it was still only four hours of sleep. So, I got up, made coffee etc—the usual morning things and about 11 a.m., I went back to bed where I slept for four more hours! So, as you can imagine, it has been a very short day for me.

I don’t think I will have any problem staying up until 10:30 p.m., which is my usual time to go to sleep, but I only hope I have not messed up my night’s sleep! Still, if I have, it doesn’t matter since the only thing on my schedule tomorrow is physical therapy at noon!

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." –Viktor Frankl

The nice thing about retirement, I suppose, is that you can sleep whenever you feel like it.

That’s one of my favorite things about not working…. if I don’t sleep at normal times I can sleep at my OWN times! :o) !! Like right now, I’m thoroughly enjoying being up at 1:30 a.m. because I fell asleep at 5:30 p.m.! :o) ! hugs, Nicky

I try to keep to a schedule as well since i’m home all day now, I can sleep whenever I want to. But it just messes up everything else if you don’t stay on a schedule, isn’t that right? I did notice though that I sleep about 12 hours nowadays and I feel more rested. Can’t believe I just admitted that.

I cannot wait until I could have that schedule if I needed it.:)
