A Small Update

Amazon  is inundating me with Star Trek novels on the "recommended" page. I need to go make some changes on the list that they use as a basis for suggestions. Yes, I bought three Star Trek Kindle books but that was only because they were written by Barbara Hamley and not because they were, per se, Star Trek!

When I went out this morning, I saw that the new umbrella on the balcony was down on its side. Fred had put it there so it wouldn’t get blown down again. I have been sitting out there all morning and just a few moments ago had to grab it since a wind gust tried to take it again!  More and more I am pleased at my decision not to take a road trip and not to take a class this summer. I am actually looking forward to a summer sitting on the deck and reading!

What I am reading:

  • I am continuing with The Know-It-All by A. J. Jacobs
  • I am continuing with The Sharing Knife series by Lois Mcmasters Bujold.. I started book three this morning.
  • I downloaded a large number of samples this morning of books that looked interesting… I will probably dump most of them  and put a few into the Keep until Later area now I have discovered it.
  • I my Kindle!

QUOTATIONS:

*random noter* I loved The Know-It-All and have been resisting buying a Kindle. Hopefully by the time I go back for my masters degree enough textbooks will be available on the Kindle that $400 (or probably less in 3-5 years) will be well worth saving a couple thousand on textbooks. I’m going away now.

Your kindle sounds wonderful!!! I may have to look into one myself when this whole GM thing is settled. I’m glad that you are taking time to just sit back, relax, and enjoy it. Hugs, M

I was looking at the strange eye on the front page, then I looked across to the right and saw it was you! Is it a fish?

RYN. I’ve just been looking at your pics, and paintings. You’re very talented! I really thought that the eye was a photo, not a painting. I believe that eyes are very difficult to draw, but you seem to have no trouble!

Sounds like you’re having a VERY good time! 🙂

OOOH! I’m reading Book 3 of the Sharing Knife, too. I’m really liking the series a lot. Still not quite as much as I like Miles, but really, who can hold a candle to him???

If I had my druthers, I rather stay home and relax, too.

Reading is wonderful. Luuuurverly. I think we read different types of books though. I’m always giving ppl copies of the books I love from the used bookstores I go to. And everyone seems to enjoy them equally as much as I did. I just read your notes tell me…did you paint the fish eye? Really? Wow. Wonderful.

To replenish Vitamin D you need 10 minutes of sunlight on your face and hands everyday. It is great for the mood too. I learned that this week from my Dr. It’s something we all lack all winter long and welcome it when the sun is out. Enjoye the deck reading it is one of my favorites too. I got a solar birdbath and the water sound is so relaxing.
