A Short List
Things I need to do tomorrow:
- reorganize my portfolio for Italian. The folders I had before are too slippery and dumped all the papers out.
- start the art assignment. It is the ubiquitous color wheel and I really don’t have to do it but I had an idea I want to explore…
- get back to reading The Time Traveler’s Wife because the person who lent it to me wants to know what I think of it at the Book Club meeting next week. At the moment, I am both confused and not particularly impressed but Janice, the friend that lent it to me, said it gets better later on! The Book Club choice this time was The Last Days of Dog Town by Anita Diamante. Now, that is a book I enjoyed.
- walk down to the library and change my books. I also need to find a recommendation for the Book Club
- do a little house cleaning…
Until later….
Extremly Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer is very good, if you don’t mind a book that deals with 9/11 issues.

We did Time Traveler for reading circle a year or so ago. I thought it was very interesting, and as you go along, you learn to sort out whether he’s coming or going. It was an interesting story with an interesting concept. A lot to think about if you get into those time traveling fantasies, which I do sometimes. 🙂

I love when you give book suggestions. I love to read, but I tend to stick with familiar authors. I will have to check these out, too.

This makes me very aware of the fact that I need to start making lists for what I want to get done. I’ve been doing as I go and that works, but I’m thinking I’ll get more accomplished if I lay it out. Thanks. Love to you! ~M

I need to get back to reading again! Not that I’ve been away from it for long; it just seems long. I couldn’t really concentrate on reading during the two weeks I spent at Carrie’s, what with the new baby and all. Btw, I am soooo glad you’re back! I LOVE getting notes from you and reading your entries! hugs, Weesprite

I’m very backed up in my reading right now and that’s really bothering me. I’ll get caught up eventually. I might put the whole pile on hold to read The Bridges of Madison County though. We drove past there on I-80 when we went west earlier this month. We didn’t have time to take the tour though. When I go again in the spring I intend to take the full tour if I like the book so I’d better get reading.

I started reading ‘Lucky’ on Wednesday. I’ll finish it tonight 🙂 I’ve really enjoyed it so far… just finished reading about her success at her rapist’s trial.

I read “Time Travelers Wife” too and enjoyed the concept. The book was worth the time and I’ve kept it for Diane to read (don’t keep too many). It does get better in the latter half.

Reading your lists inspires me to get on the ball and be more organized and ambitious myself. If only that feeling would last.

I just read The Last Days of Dogtown, and I enjoyed it, too. Dogtown (part of Gloucester, MA) isn’t all that far from where I live. I never read The Time Traveler’s Wife – just didn’t seem all that interesting to me – so let us know if it really gets better as it goes on.
