A Real Entry
I somehow managed to make yet another of those there-is-nothing-written-here entries and I can’t get rid of it!
Did I mention I found my car and house keys? Did I even mention I had lost them? Well, a few days ago, I came into the house loaded down with something-or-another and instead of putting my keys where I usually put them, I put them in the pocket of the coat I was wearing. It was a short berber-type coat suitable for spring weather which is what we were having at the time. Then the weather went back to normal Vermont winter weather and I forgot I was even wearing that spring coat! So, the last time I went to physical therapy, I used the spare car keys. Yesterday I looked at the clothes hanging on the pegs and thought to myself, "What is that spring coat doing out here?" Then, I remembered and checked the pockets. And there were the keys.
I ran the dishwasher this morning and could hear the steady drip, drip of the water dripping into the bowl under the washer… The landlord said when he suggested putting the bowl there, "You won’t mind emptying the bowl at intervals, will you?" Hmmm, I wanted to say, "Yes, I will! I am not paying exorbitant rent to have to get down on the floor and do this!" But instead I said," OK, I can do that!"
Fred and I just went out to clean the snow off our cars and to put mine where I can get out to go to PT this afternoon. Up until today, I have been using Fred’s snow brush and ice scraper. Today I looked again in the back of my car, and there was my ice scraper and brush. I guess I didn’t see it last time I looked because it is black and it wasn’t easily visible against the dark gray of the trunk! Anyway, that job is done and at 12:45, I will be off to physical therapy. If Candace doesn’t torture me too much, I may stop on the way back and get my hair cut. It is long enough to irritate me evey time I look at myself…
Until later…

I’m glad you found your keys AND your ice scraper! :o) !! Whenever I find things, I count it as a miracle. I wish your landlord was better at fixing things. I know some people simply aren’t….but if they’re not, maybe they shouldn’t be landlords! :oO !! Here’s wishing you a good day at PT and hopefully, getting your hair cut also! hugs, Weesprite

I do that with stuff all the time. I think, “where the heck did I put that?” And then find it a week later in the pocket of a jacket I wore. I have these gym outfits that have matching jackets with pockets. I’ve gotten so that when something is missing, I go to the closet and search my jackets. *eye roll*

LOL about your keys. I’ve been there several times lately. Its not fun, that’s for sure, especially with important things like keys. And I think your landlord is crazy to ask you to do this… its only asking for trouble when it gets bigger. You should ask him what plumber he uses (and get the ph#) if it ever comes down to emergency and him not being home for more than a few hours.

Wow I panic when I can’t find my keys, then again, my life is sort included on that set of keys including the ones I need for work.

Oooh, I hate it when I lose my keys. Glad you found yours!!

How much snow have you had dumped on you this year? Did yesterday’s New England storm hit your area?

Ugh!! You know, the landlord’s responsibility is to take care of that junk!! Geez! He’d drive me nutso!

I hate it when someone like the landlord ask a question like “you don’t mind doing this, do you?” It always strikes me as being pushy.

If your landlord doesn’t fix the dishwasher soon (really fix it, not with a bowl!), then I would ask him who he’d like you to call to come in and fix it because it isn’t very pleasant to have to get down so far to empty the bowl all the time. As you said, you don’t pay the big bucks to have to do that! Funny stuff about the keys. I’m glad that you found them! (((Hugs)))

Hope you have time for the haircut! =)

I did that with my school keys. I thought the school would need to get rekeyed….$300 dollars…UGH! I was so happy when I found them in my coat pocket. The dishwasher needs something beyond a bowl!

RYN: Bell work is a question that is up on the board when the kids come in to class. It’s part of their daily routine and helps them transition between crazy hallways into focusing on the topic we’ll study. Then, at the end of the period, it’s a summary question about what we’ve covered. I interpret that a little more loosely and use it to review concepts all year long, or emphasize the most important parts of each unit. Each teacher is supposed to do it throughout the 7-12 school. I’ve got my kids trained pretty well–they come in, get out their sheets, do the question and are ready for me to start class by the time I finish attendance. Nowadays they even get the ticket out the door put up on the board on their own, without me needing to help! I’m glad you found your keys and ice scraper. My keys are still MIA.

nothing is much more annoying than losing keys. Still ,at least they turned up in the end.

I just chuck hot water at the car to remove ice. A lot less effort than all that draving scraping. At least you have a spare key. I didn’t with my last car, which was always perilous.
